That parameter isn't defined in my main.cf file. Is I add it and leave it blank. It still doesn't work. Hai Marco, For you own domains, dont point postfix to your internal DNS only, if done wrong you might miss dns info on the wan side and thats mostlikely your error . Setup a caching DNS and setup a forward zone to internal.domain.tld and domain.tld. ( internet dns ) That makes sure that you dont break DKIM/DMARC/SPF/TLSA on the internet side. Postfix won't relay after update to CentOS 4.4
Hi Everyone, My CentOS 4.4 mail server is having problems sending mail after updating it to 4.4 Before the update, I did not have any problems. My ISP requires that email clients must authenticate to their mail servers before mail can be sent out. I setup smtp auth to get postfix to relay mail through the ISP's mail servers. Here's my config: main.cf -------- relayhost =

Postfix relay on Comcast
How to get postfix working on CentOS 6 and Comcast. Recently, they've changed their policies regards email relay and require authentication even to send email. (they no longer use IP address ranges, presumably in an attempt to curb outgoing SPAM) I didn't see an updated howto anywhere on the Interwebs, thought I'd point out what I had to do. The part that had me stumped for longer

[CORRECTED] Postfix SMTP authentication on remote relay serve
Sorry about the previous post, I see the subject had a typo. So here's the correct one :) Does anyone know how to configure Postfix to use SMTP authentication on a relay host? i.e. I have a Linux server, running PostFix on an ADSL line with a dynamic IP. Thus I can't just send out emails from this server but need to relay it via our ISP's SMTP server, which is very unreliable. Now

relay access denied problem thru iphone imap auth
I'm using postfix smtpd / dovecot. Running imaps, imap, pop3s, pop3. I have a ssl certificate setup. Everything works fine via IMAP except sending to an email from outside the network to a recipient outside the network. The problem is when someone (and this is being tested thru the iphone email client configured to use imap) logs in, they can read messages but cannot send to an address

Centos 6.2 Postfix - forward through SMTP smarthost with SMTP-AUTH
Hi All, I have set up three servers in a development environment. Via CR they're updated to Centos 6.2 It appears that these servers have postfix installed on them by default, which unfortunately I'm not very well acquainted with. All I want is a quick and dirty way to enable these hosts to send email through my own SMTP host. My (sendmail) SMTP host uses SMTP AUTH on a non-standard

''To be a DC'', servers have to add/update some DNS record. If you have a single DC, there's no choice. ;-) If you have more than a DC, you have to pay attention to have as DNS not the DC itself
