flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
Unfortunately I do not have the ability to add the user/group information to AD directly at this time. Does anyone know exactly what the following error message "means"? It shows up every time these symptoms occur, and if I could understand why the lookup fails, I might be able to prevent the issue. "lookup_name_smbconf for CLIENTHOSTNAME$ failed"

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
I left in some of the parameters I've been testing commented out. Interestingly, we've noticed another client triggering the same type of symptoms every morning at around the same time. Those symptoms being a line 'lookup_name_smbconf for COMPUTERNAME$ failed' and a flood of failed connection attempts from the same client. The issue seemed to resolve itself after a few minutes

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
We have been experiencing a debilitating 'bug' in samba where something is causing a flood of the messages seen below in smbstatus and the network drives ( in our case N: ) on all clients become unresponsive. In fact, the entire client becomes unresponsive, essentially making them unusable until samba is restarted. We first saw this and connected it to the following open bug in samba

Restricting winbind to the default domain
Greetings, I want to use winbind in conjunction with nsswitch in a pretty large AD. I would like winbind to only map users in the default domain. As it is, winbind map users in other trusted domain of the AD too, which is *not* what I want. I am not sure I made myself very clear, so here is an example. Let's say I have an AD called ACME.COM. There are the domains PROD.ACME.COM and

Hi everyone, I'm posting here because I'm facing a kerberos authentication problem after the 2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu1.20.04.4 samba upgrade. The clients, win10, win11, win2016 cannot login to AD anymore. On server logs the authentication succeeded but in the Event Viewer on the client I have this error: Security-Kerberos The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the

multi-site SSL certificates
I'm handling mail for several domains, let's call them a.com, b.com, and c.com. I have certificates for each of these domains individually via certbot (letsencrypt) and nginx is happy with all of that. Since I initially configured the site to handle mail only for a.com, my /etc/postfix/main.cf file currently has these two lines: smtpd_tls_cert_file =

Hi everyone, I am setting up a samba server in Win2003 domain. My goal is to be able to connect to shares from a redhat server to win2003 servers and do the same the other way around. I have followed some tutorials, been through the official how-to and still my setup has something wrong that i cannot understand. I would like to use the windows accounts in my Active Directory to do the
