nonlinear curve fit of an implicit function
Hello,
I want to perform a nonlinear curve fit in order to obtain parameter
estimates from experimentally determined data (y in dependence of x),
but with an implicit function, thus, a function of which I cannot
isolate y on the left-hand side of the equation. As far as I understand,
the functions I found up to now (nls, optim) all work only for explicit
functions.
My data looks like

Asterisk processes
Hello
I was wondering why the asterisk processes where growing, from one process at launch time to more than twenty after some weeks.... and I was wondering if all resources won't be eated at last.... (with 2% of memory by process make the sum....)
I know this question has already been asked, but i didn't find any real reply (except RTFM likes... not very constructives anyway :-( )

insufficient fix for gcc localised output in stubdom makefile
Hello.
There was a slight change in stubdom makefile from 3.3 to 3.3.1, in
order to use non-localised gcc output:
GCC_INSTALL = $(shell LANG=C gcc -print-search-dirs | sed -n -e
''s/install: \(.*\)/\1/p'')
However, this is still unsuffient to just set LANG:
[guillomovitch@n2 xen]$ LANG=C gcc -print-search-dirs | sed -n -e
''s/install: \(.*\)/\1/p''

Ressources needed (cpus, ram, etc.) for a Samba server
Dear Samba Users,
I am preparing a Samba box as standalone server (only files server,
centos 7).
This Samba box is a domain member server, and is dedicaded to serve
files to about 80 domain users.
I am wondering if there are some special requirements for this purpose
in terms of CPUs, Memory ?
The Samba box is a Vmware virtual machine, so I can easely configure this.
I noticed also in some

Samba 4 fileserver perfomance
I have at home two centos boxes:
Box A - centos 6.4. gui version
Box B - centos 7.1. minimal version.
They are connected to 100Mb router (both boxes have 100Mb network adapters). Box B has software raid 1 and sata II interfaces.?On box B samba4 is installed and I copy files to samba share ( from box A to box B).
Network monitor (iptraf-ng) shows only 20000 kbps of this copying operation. That is

mongrel_cluster : up to 500 MiB memory
Hi everyone,
I''ve got some trouble with my RoR application running with apache
(2.2.9) and mongrel (1.1.5).
The site i manage has about 20''000 visits a day, and we run 14 mongrel
instances switched with mongrel_cluster (1.0.5). The fact is, sometime,
half of my mongrel instances are raising something like 500MiB memory
and don''t seem to work anymore.
The server itself

Help with error
Hi. I am trying to do a nonlinear regression on a set of data with Monod
kinetics and Haldane inhibition. I am using the following commands to do
the nonlinear regression:
dce<-read.delim("data.txt", header = TRUE, sep = "\t", quote="\"", dec=".",
fill = TRUE, comment.char="")
dce.m1<-nls(rate~kmax*conc/(Ks+conc+((conc^2)/Ki),data=dce

How to improve the performance with unix_convert ?
Dear all:
I used samba version 4.8.6 .I want to creat and write file in a dir,but the dir have a lots file ,may be 200000+.The creat or write will be slowly more than 1s.
I watched the code ,the operation will be running the unix_convert .the function is time-consuming .
if I modify the code get_real_filename_full_scan in the filename.c .the client will be failed to find some file .but the write

Slow file listing : Debian Wheezy, Samba Version 3.6.6
Hi,
I have come across something similar. We had a large directory (several
10s of thousand files) stored on a large Linux box which was migrated to
a faster, but smaller memory (256 GiB -> 12 GiB) box. The Windows users
recorded unacceptable access times and ultimately we had to:
1) Break the large directory into several smaller ones, and
2) Move to a larger memory (128 Gib) machine.

RELENG_7_1: bce driver change generating too much interrupts ?
Since last upgrade, I see much more CPU time "eated" by interrupts (at
least 10% cpu in top)
(see http://dgeo.perso.ec-marseille.fr/cpu-week.png)
The server behave correctly (Or seems to?), and high interrupt number
seems to come from bce cards (source: systat -vmstat)
I just upgraded from

vCPUs and Weight/Caps
Hello Everyone,
I am hoping I can get some help with how vCPUs work with weights and caps
1. If I have a domU with 2 vCPUs and a weight of 256, does the weight double (512) or is this 256 time slice across both vCPUs. If the weight does not double, how is it beneficial to have multiple vCPUs?
2. If the domU has 2vCPUs and a cap of 100% how does this work since 100% is a mex of one physical

huge desk-top size pics taking up the whole page all the time. right?
so does anyone have a sort-of thumbnail thing they''d be willing to

Multiple streams/window sizing options ala BBFTP?
This must get asked all the time, but I didn't see any results from a
search in the archive, so...
Are there any plans to integrate features such as using configurable,
multiple streams, or configurable window sizes? Something like BBFTP or
GridFTP features would be nice - is anyone working on this? Rsync is
much more feature-rich than either, but they do have a few nice features
