Samba 4 -> Group Policy Drive Map -> Access Denied
OK, the preference is set correctly. Have you run a "samba-tool ntacl
sysvolcheck" on your first domain controller? That will check the
permissions. If you have additional domain controllers, ensure you're
connecting to the one holding the PDC Emulator role (typically your first
DC) in your GPMC.
If the sysvolcheck says everything is fine, and you only have one domain
controller,

Samba 4 -> Group Policy Drive Map -> Access Denied
OK, remove the Item Level Targeting - that should hit all Domain Users
anyways.
Can you extract the .XML file that is made from that policy? Go to your
SYSVOL\<domain>\Policies\<GUID for Policy>\User\Preferences\Drives, and
open up "Drives.xml". Copy and paste the contents of that file into the
mailing list.

You can upgrade to 4.8.2, just steer clear of 4.8.0 and 4.8.1 ;-)

Samba 4 -> Group Policy Drive Map -> Access Denied
I seem to be having trouble getting group policies
to map a drive. When I drilled down thru the logs
I get an "Access Denied" message.
I can navigate to the share via the computer browser
and map a drive the "old fashion way" with any issues.
Files can be read and written.
The group policy doesn't seem to take. Suggestions?
Thank you.

Computer Management - Share Security - No Read Access
My domain admins group doesn't have this privilege and I can still set
security permissions from Windows just fine, though I've been doing it
using the default domain administrator account so I can't comment if
that's different from using another domain admin account.
net rpc rights list privileges looks as follows in my case:
SeDiskOperatorPrivilege: SAMDOM\Domain Admins

No. If it was mentioned in any of the samba docs consulted, then I missed it.

Perhaps I missed a permission change on the shared directory?
It's supposed to be set to 0770, correct? I created the
directory from root - can't recall what the permissions
where or if I chmod'd it.
Would a goof on that result in the inability to set permissions
when using the windows administrator account. Basically the
behavior I'm seeing?

SCSI backup error
Hi,
Can someone please help me with this? I have just upgraded from 4.7 to 4.8-STABLE and
this is what I am getting when I try a tape backup. Please CC as I am not in the list. It was
working well before the upgrade (dump -0ua -f - / | gzip -c -9 | dd of=/dev/nsa0).
Thank you,
