Migrating from uw-imapd to dovecot
We recently switch from up-imapd to dovecot
But many users are reporting that they cannot access certain mail folders.
The log file has:

The files in the logs are "MBX mail folders", not "ASCII English

WiFi phones and WDS (Wireless Distribution System)
I'm about to start working with WiFi phones on my Asterisk
installations.
Can anyone tell me if they are using WiFi phones on wireless network
that is extended with WDS and how well the phone handles jumping from
access point to access point while on a call?
Do any WiFi phones support WPA encryption or are they all still under
the impression they are only being used on public hot spots?

r tidy
Is there an r-tidy program? something that works similar to perl
tidy? http://perltidy.sourceforge.net/ which takes program code
and reformats white space with standard indentations and spacing?
I did find a ruby based rtidy, but that is for html formatting.

Package for Tidying-up R-code
Dear all,
Is there any such package?
I am thinking of something equivalent to Perl::Tidy.
For example with VI editor one can visual highlight a portion
of Perlcode and then issue the command:
!perltidy
then the code will be automatically arranged.

2.5.1p1/p2 PermitRootLogin broke (Solaris)
I updated my Solaris 8 machines from openssh-2.3.0p1 to 2.5.1p1 yesterday and
it fixed the cron/audit issue but now root logins are no longer permitted. I
updated it to 2.5.1p2 this morning and that is still the case:

Invoking SAS in order to use sas.get
I am trying to use the sas.get function to bring a SAS dataset into R.
After calling the sas.get function I got an error message stating that
'sas' is not a recognized internal or external command, etc. I am
guessing that I need to specify the internal command to invoke SAS in
the sasprog option for the sas.get function, but I don't know how to
determine what that command might be.

modeling logit(y/n) using lrm
I have a dataset at a hospital level (as opposed to the patient level)
that contains number of patients experiencing events (call this number
y), and the number of patients eligible for such events (call this
number n). I am trying to model logit(y/n) = XBeta. In SAS this can be
done in PROC LOGISTIC or GENMOD with a model statement such as: model
y/n = <predictors>;. Can this be done

R vs. Stata
I have read some very good reviews comparing R (or Splus) to SAS. Does
anyone know if there are any reviews comparing R (or Splus) to Stata? I
am trying to get others to try R in my department, and I have never used
Stata.

decompose a correlation matrix
Is there a simple way to decompose the upper triangle
of a correlation matrix to a linear list;
For example:
X Y Z
X 1 2 3
Y 2 1 4
Z 3 4 1
so you get a list like:
xy 2
XZ 3
YZ 4
I suspect you can do it with a matrix transformation, but
that beyond me at present.
Many thanks
Mark

permissions and properties of printers
Hello, I am having problems with all my clients (windows 2K and 9x) that
don't have rights to modify printer settings, like tray or page size. At
least the problem is consistent across all machines! ;) They can not print
11x17 pages, they can not change from defaults. We set things up rather
quickly without much attention to detail and are paying for it now. The
print drivers were installed

Camping is a winner at SXSW-i
Last night, a little Camping application I wrote called
MetaNotes<http://www.metanotes.com/>won the Experimental

.
MetaNotes is a site that lets you (and many other people) simultaneously
place colorful post-it notes on a wide canvas. If you get lucky, you may
see notes move in the background as

It's not a web server port - elasticsearch is a database.

mysql-connector-odbc i686 package
Hi all,
I am looking for a i686 package (32 bit) for mysql-connector-odbc. However,
I could locate only the x86-64 version on the repositories. Not much of a
DB person but trying to connect to a 64bit MySQL server on remote host.
Any suggestions where I can locate the i686 package? Is there a mariadb
package that I can use?
Thanks.

Hallo,

I tried several variations in the config-file.

augPred in lmer
I read the posts about augPred with lme, but does anyone know if there is a correlate for augPred for lmer? Specifically, I want to be able to use it to plot projections for all groups in an lmer class object using plot(augPred(lmer.object)).
Thanks,
Kyle

Limiting bandwidth
Greetings,
Scenario:
Centos box with eth1 (10.0.0.0/24) and eth0 (192.168.0.0/24)
segment on eth0 has access to full bandwidth of uplink
Both are on 100mbps switches
Requirements:
bandwith on segment on eth1 needs to be throttled to different speeds - say
32, 64, 128kbps and the such. Required for application performance testing
purposes.
As usual my girlfriend google is very verbose.
