Pseudo-GPO Support for Samba
I have a bunch of W2K clients on my network and I want to be able to use GPOs, but REFUSE to go the M$ route ;-) Since GPOs are essentially registry entries, it might be somewhat easy to implement a simple program that could give admins that fine-grain control that is missing from NT4-style .pol files. What I would like to propose is a simple Win32 executable that could read from an

GPO permissions
Hi all, Just another GPO Permissions question. I'm trying to track down why some GPOs are essentially invisible to the clients, even though they exist in GPM and the files exist. So, they aren't being applied or denied. What's the current wisdom on GPO ownership? In GPM, the applicable object is "owned" by Domain Admins, but the \\DC\sysvol\SAMDOM\Policies\{UUID} should

GPOs not Working!
ok, do the following. set ignore systemacl to yes on sysvol and netlogon. login as dom\administrator computer manager, connect to dc. share sysvol, goto share security, reset to defalts. same for folder. goto gpo manager, klik on every gpo object, if one has wrong acl, you get a message to reset it, thats ok. now never samba-tool sysvol reset if you do, you might need to set share/file

"Samba cannot handle GPO restrictions"
Hi list, Today, I spent most of the day figuring out why my password policies set via GPO are not applied on a domain level, just to find out that this is not one of the many occasions where Windows is the problem but it's really Samba, for a change. Apparently, password policies can only be changed using samba-tool and not via GPO. IMO, the FAQ is not very clear here.

gpo problem
Hello, we have a strange problem with the "Default Domain Policy". Sometimes on different PC the drivmappings are not working. When we do a "gpupdate /force" we get an errormessage that the "default domain policy" is not working for both the user-GPOs and the machine-GPOs. We checked the permissions with "samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck" and with
