Hello ! I have joined my samba 3.0.32 samba server to a windows 2003 domain = controller. All works well and all users are mapped etc etc. Now is the server situated on a remote location. My question is can it handle domain logons for the remote location or = can this only be done by the 2003 server. the reason is that the connection between both locations is sometimes = out of order. =20

I've got a Problem using samba4 as PDS and Win7 Client. I'm not able to rename a file in Windows Explorer. I can connect shares. I can create, open and write files but I cannot rename or move them. Hi! I am using samba 3.0 beta as a PDC with ldap authentication. I am able to login to win 98 machine with samba as PDC. The problem i am facing is samba requires /etc/passwd entry of user in addition to ldap entry. I am pasting my smb.conf for ref. Is it possible to use only ldap account so that i do not have to add /etc/passwd entry. I have not added ldap entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
