Using samba-tool from Domain member
I should have been more specific. I'm trying to add users; I figured
listing the users was a good test. I'm sure it's expected, but I'm now
seeing the following:
# samba-tool user create test.user -H ldap://dc1
New Password:
Retype Password:

'check password script' and Join...
Make a note: it is better to disable 'check password script' in the
DC(s) before trying to join a new DC. ;(

Listing AD group members
Hi,
Ive been trying to work out how to get wbinfo to list members of a specific
AD group, rather than list groups a specific user is in.
So far I have had no luck... In fact im not sure its possible with wbinfo.
Is there another tool which could do this?

Samba4 changing a user's password from linux workstation
Hi
I'm trying to find a way to change user passwords from ubuntu client
workstation on a samba4 domain.
I tried in CLI from the client workstation (ubuntu 14.04) with:
- smbpasswd -U $user
=> In this case, password seemed to be updated, but "wbinfo -a" didn't
worked with the new password, the old one was still active.
- samba-tool user setpassword $user
=> In this

'samba-tool testparm --section' bugs?
I've coded some scripts that extract some info from a smb.conf section.
In DC works:

root at vdcsv1:~# samba-tool testparm --section sysvol
[sysvol]
path = /var/lib/samba/sysvol
read only = No
root at vdcsv1:~# samba-tool testparm --section-name=sysvol

Joined a second DC, some glitches...
I've setup my second DC, following the samba wiki, without major
trouble.
Only three notes:
a) i've followed the suggestion to move idmap.ldb from the first DC to
the second (Rowland! Clap me! I've not sayed 'primary' and
'secondary'! ;-).
After that, as suggested by the wiki, i've done a 'samba-tool ntacl
sysvolreset' but:

Unable to Join the Active Directory as a Domain Controller
Hello,
I am trying to use Samba in version 4.7.0 as a replication of an Active
Directory running on Windows 2012-R2.
For that, I execute the process described on this page:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory
When I run the command to join the domain controller, samba-tool returns
the following error:
