samba 4.8.0 Time Machine crashes on Mac
Hello,
I've encountered recurring issue with samba crashes when creating initial
Time Machine backup on samba share from Mac. Whole scenario, details about
software and logs are below.
On Mac client: connected to smb share with "valid user" account; added smb
share as Time Machine disk.

Here's situation:
One Linux-server (CentOS 7.2) with Samba and a network of 14 noteboks

Run smbd in AD user context
Hi all!
Is it possible to run smbd in an AD user's context?
If not, is it possible to have smbd to tell a third-party function to not
stray outside from logged on user's (AD user) context (home directory)?
I'm programming a VFS module[1] which will be the bridge between Windows
and iRODS[2]. iRODS depends on a configuration file,
.irods/irods_environment.json, which resides in the

Troubles with Mac clients
Hello.
At a customer's site I had:
_ Windows 2008 DC;
_ Samba 4.8 fileserver on FreeBSD 11.3/amd64 on UFS;
_ several Windows and Mac clients.
Recently, having to move to Samba 4.10, I decided to bring up a new
fileserver in a jail (and let the base 4.8 one die after transferring
all shares).
I have no problems with Windows clients, but several strange things are
happening with Macs.

Terrible share access performance (v.4.8 and current master branch)
Hello!
When I'm using qBittorrent [1] on Windows 10 with download location
set to remote Samba share on Arch Linux then it severely affects all
shares on that host, unrelated to disk where qBittorrent is actually
writing.
On Arch Linux that smbd process is using 100% of one CPU core time and
seems it's blocking because of lseek calls.

No I can not upgrade now it is a working system with x users.
The master dc with the same config is working without any issues.
So when I upgrade I must do the uprgade on both replicating samba server and the samba fileservers?
No hint form e to repair:

widelinks_warning - but unix extensions *are* off
Sorry for the delay and thanks for your pointers.
"allow insecure wide links" does not change the behaviour, tried that before. Which is strange, if you look at the code.
On the other hand it is clearly not a static misconfiguration, otherwise I would be able to reproduce it.
About half of the time, we get a PANIC about 5 to 10 minutes after these strange widelinks_warnings appear in
