Missing 'glusterfs.so' in Ubuntu
Hai,
No exactly Rowland.
There is not missing anything.
And he is correct, that file is missing in the official ubuntu and debian packages.
I suggest report a bug at ubuntu, its missing in all there samba packages.

You can pretty easy rebuild the ubuntu package if you need it.

My problem shuld be a FAQ and, in fact I found a lot of references

Samba3+samba-vscan+clamav = A big headache.
I just installed samba3+samba-vscan via ports on a FreeBSD 4.x system.
Samba is running just fine and thanks to the help of webmin it was
easily configured. Today I finally was able to get windows shares to be
mounted on my FreeBSD server. So naturally I want to run av scans on it.
I set it up to mount the entire C drive and to scan it using clamav
which is also installed from ports. I recompiled

vfs module Samba 3.5.1
We installed the Samba 3.5.1 rpms for OpenSuSE 10.2 from
ftp.sernet.de. The VFS modules seem to be broken. Is this an error
in the packaging or do I need to be looking else where. A snippet
from the log file follows:

Setting ACLs with smbcacls fails (partly)
Hello,
I'm running a PDC and a secondary DC in privilegded lxc containers and
try to setup a fileserver in an unprivileged lxc container.
The shares of the file server are on the ZFS of the host and mapped via
bind-mount.
I've got the problem, that I get error messages when setting the ACLs of
a samba share either via the Windows explorer or using the smbcacls command.

Samba 3.4.6 - problems with vfs objects = recycle
Hi,
I just upgraded samba from 3.0.37 to 3.4.6 on a gentoo machine. After
converting the passwd file (pdbedit -i smbpasswd -e tdbsam) I tried to
login from a windows client but it didn''t work. After commenting the
vfs-recycle entries in the shares definition I could successfully
login. I cannot find any hint that the vfs objects in samba 3.4 has
changed. Can somebody help?
Thanks in

Sorting directory lists (again)
Hello list,
I know this has been discussed before (June 2007 looks to be the most
recent time), so apologies for covering (sort of) old ground.
The lowdown is that samba uses readdir to get its directory listing
and this is returned in whatever order the filesystem sees as
appropriate (using ext3, it seems to be related to mtime). I have a
device which accesses a share using CIFS and presents

Unable to get recycle to work
I have this one remaining issue before I can declare my Samba rollout to be
successful. I have been trying to implement the recycle feature. My server
is a Dell Intel, with Redhat Enterprise 3.0 Linux and Samba 3.0.14 (I
believe I have all the string and the periods in the right place).
Here is the recycle configuration I have for a share, as my test:

Debian Wheezy member server from backports to self compile
Hello,
I'm unable to update my Samba from 4.1.17 to 4.4.2. I'm looking to
build from tar instead. From what I gather the following should be the
steps taken.
./configure --without-ad-dc -- sbindir= /usr/sbin
--sysconfdir=/etc/samba/ --/usr/share/man/
make
make install
Am I missing something else? Thanks.
