self compiled 4.10.3 replication failure.
Hi, I have a new Centos 7.6 VM that I self compiled 4.10.3 and joined it to an existing samba AD domain that has 2 existing DCs. One of the existing DCs is running 4.8.7 and the other is running 4.7.7. Everything looks OK except that when I run samba-tool drs showrepl on the new DC (VDC4) I get the following output: (vdc4 pts4) # samba-tool drs showrepl Default-First-Site-Name\VDC4 DSA Options:

Problem transfering fsmo roles.
Hi, I have a Samba domain which currently has 4 DC's. I am in the process of trying to remove the old 4.8.12 self compiled DC's and ultimately replace them with (2) 4.12.8 DC's on Buster with samba from the VanBelle repo. Due to an error in my apt configuration I currently have 2 4.11.14 DC's running on Buster. If I try to transfer the roles from one of the 4.8.12 DC's to one

Problem with samba-tool --reindex
Hi, I have 2 DC's. One is running 4.10.18 and the other is running 4.11.14. I am planning on upgrading the 4.10.18 DC to 4.11.14 and then both up to 4.12r.latest. In doing this I ran samba-tool dbcheck --reindex and got the following warning: (vdc1 pts8) # samba-tool dbcheck --reindex Re-indexing... ../../lib/ldb/ldb_key_value/ldb_kv_index.c:2413: duplicate attribute value in

C 7.3 sshd will not reload
Hi, Since upgrading to 7.3 I am having a problem getting sshd to reload after configuration changes. When I issue the command "systemctl reload sshd.service" I get the following error: "Unit sshd.service cannot be reloaded because it is inactive." It is obviously still running because I am connected over ssh to the machine and netstat shows it is listening. (vnewman pts3) #

net use H: /home does not work
The latest Orielly book Using SAMBA 2nd edition says that after you have created a homes share that adding this line to your logon.bat file the user's home directory will be mapped and it will be called their user name. Well the logon.bat script gets an error on this line saying that it is not the proper use of the net use command. So instead I changed the command to net use H:
