Possible Bug: Can't copy from Mac OS X to Samba Version 3.0.2a-Debian?
So I'm trying to copy a file called "Stuffit Standard 8.0.2 X Installer.dmg" from my Panther workstation to a Debian i386 server, running Samba 3.0.2a as packaged under Debian. There's plenty of disk space left, I'm looking at a folder full of files with long names, some containing spaces. When I drag the file from my workstation's local folder to the folder on the

Trying to install rjags on Mac OS X 10.5
Greetings, I wonder if anyone can offer any help or advice--even direction to an appropriate source of advice. I am trying to install rjags 1.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5 (see http://www-fis.iarc.fr/~martyn/software/jags/). I have R.app 2.6.1 installed. JAGS 1.0.1 is apparently successfully installed. I (think I) know this because when I type 'jags' into Terminal, I get the following:

samba.org Solaris binary is incompatible with Mac OS 10.2.x as client
More precisely what I've discovered is, at least in the cases of 2.2.8a and 3.0alpha22, when a 64-bit Samba is built with Sun's Forte compiler you'll end up with something incompatible with Mac OS 10.2.3. I always compile Samba myself with Sun's compiler to produce a 64-bit Samba. Well yesterday it came to my attention that Mac OS 10.2.x doesn't work with whats on my main

loading a file in R in mac OS X
Hello, Please forgive me that this question is so basic, but i have not been able to find a solution in any of the basic R introductions, in the R wiki, or in the stats textbook i'm using to learn R. I run R on a macintosh, and i have not been able to load any data files yet. For instance, if I have a data table in a file called schools.txt on my desktop, i've been trying to load the

emacs, Mac OS X, R
Hi! Since August I am using emacs on my Macintosh to edit the R objects. I have installed R 1.9.1, Mac OS X 10.3.5 and GNU Emacs 21.2.1. However there are some issues I haven't resolved: a) switch the caps lock key to the meta key (and when this is not possible, switch the alt/option key to the meta). The switch should work only within emacs! b) having different colors for the code,

Re: Memory Limitations for WINE 1.1.33 under Mac OS Leopard
I noticed in the loader/main.c that there seems to be some comment that it might be possible to set a build such that 3GB of memory can be allocated for a 32-bit process (through virtual memory mapping). static void check_vmsplit( void *stack ) { if (stack < (void *)0x80000000) { /* if the stack is below 0x80000000, assume we can safely try a munmap there */ if (munmap(

libsmbclient in Mac OS X / Darwin
Dear folks: First of all, thanks for a great product and please do keep up your fine job with samba. As a humble contribution to your project, below is a patch to configure.in that allows libsmbclient.so to be correctly built in my system (Mac with Mac OS X). I hope this to be useful. I also noted that the generated Makefile, did not correctly install the library as the 'install'

VoIP software for MAC OS older than "X"?
Hello, is there anybody reading this who has experience with VoIP (IAX or not) on Macintosh computers? If so, have you ever seen or heard of (even an experimental, i.e., never marketed) VoIP application for any of the older Mac OSs, such as 9, 8, or 7? I can't quite believe that VoIP is such a recent idea that it was invented only *after* Mac OS X had become firmly established, but so far my

Mac OS X canonically decomposed UTF-16 filenames
Hi. I'd like to find some way for Samba to convert the filenames created by Macintosh OS X into something windows can use. According to their docs: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/SystemOverview/FileSystem/chapter_9_section_13.html filenames are stored as canonically decomposed Unicode 2.1 in UTF-16 format (a sequence of 16-bit codes) Samba running on a

configure fails on Mac OS 10.2.2
Hi - I'm trying to build R 1.6.1 on a Powerbook running Macintosh 10.2.2 with the most recent software update. The latest version of the developer tools is installed. I have also installed g77 and f2c from fink (the binary versions, using apt-get). ./configure fails with the following error: > checking for dummy main to link with Fortran 77 libraries... unknown > configure: error:
