Domain join issues - 4.9.0
Hi, Does anyone have experience of using ldbedit or similar, to remove the duplicates below? (Is that even the right way for me to go?) Can I perhaps query something using ldbsearch, to find the duplicates, before using ldbedit? Thanks Rowland for the advice, I have now tried joining a 4.9.2 machine to the domain, targeting the join at a 4.9.2 DC. Same result as below, unfortunately - I think you are probably correct with the bug below (#8929). backup AD content
I happily and trustfully use Louis' backup-script from https://github.com/thctlo/samba4 to dump AD content via cronjob. Is it necessary/recommended to do that on *each* samba DC? Is there something server-specific in the dump(s) or is it enough to do that once per domain? thanks ...

Hi, I'm using Samba 4.10.7 with Bind9_DLZ (9.10.3-P4-Debian), but I'm not getting to insert a new DC into the Domain. Failed when join to an existing Active Directory Domain
Hi, I've tried to update my samba AD/DC environment. Then, I've removed a existing offline DC with "samba-tool domain demote --remove-other-dead-server=genos". I've re-created "genos" (yes, I try to keep the same name and IP address) and install a 4.10.2 samba version (I know the new version is 4.11.0). When I've tried to join it on my domain, I've received

Samba AD DC, DHCP & Address Assignments
Hi All, I should have considered this beforehand... Assumed the info would be in the Wiki somewhere. Cannot find. The way our LAN has been working is clients use DHCP, but all address assignments are static. Thus, when a given PC asks "what's my address?", the DHCP server looks at the MAC address and asks the configured resolver what is the IP address for the hostname for that
