NT style domain users on Win10 cannot connect WIFI
hi guys, I realize it's not necessarily Samba type of a question but since this community here is vast with lots of win experience I thought I'd poke - same one winstation(ver. 1903) and computer's domain users when logged in can connect WIFI no problems, only Samba domain users cannot (to the same WIFIs). Anybody? many thanks, L.

samba 3 domain and win10 logon scripts
hi everybody I have a win10 which is (from what I see) a good member of samba domain except for one thing - it does not seem to a few simply things from a logon.bat, or does not do anything with it. would you share your thoughts? many thanks L.

I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7 clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7 only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is not fit for

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Viktor, thanks again! Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be applied to Win10 machines, right? [OT?] W10, SYSTEM, guest access.
[ I've just asked abut that, here, but now seems a simpler things, so i retry... ] This seems NON a samba touble, but a different behaviour in M$ client OS. But, really, i've not clue how to find an answer... Suppose to have a Win7 and a Win10 machine, both NOT joined to a domain. Suppose to have a share, with guest access enabled, where only readonly access are needed. Suppose also

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Hi list, This might or might not be a Samba related post. Feel free to ignore it in case it is too far off-topic My current understanding is that ... a) I need those new templates in order to fully integrate Win10 clients in an AD domain (i.e. with compatible policies). b) I can only modify policies based on Win10 admx files from Win10 machines (i.e. with the RSAT tools for Win10). Are there

win 10 login - Not enough storage is available to process this command
hi everyone I've had a Win 10 Pro client to a non-AD samba fine for a long time. Suddenly I could not logon new user(which had not logged in on that Win box before). I was lazy, I remember that quickest thing that worked once in the past was remove & re-add client, you know, in Windows itself, to the domain. Now I cannot login any user at all at that Win box(even though the box was

Win10 to Samba as NT- PDC needs 3 settings
Upgrading Win7-32 (connected to Samba as NT-PDC) to Win10 requires - disable HardenedUncPaths (MutualAuth & Integrity) - install NTVDM - enable LegacyConsole otherwise the logon-script in Netlogon does not run, even if samba.cnf contains "server max level = NT1" Is Samba as NT-PDC supposed to handle HardenedUncPaths? Did I miss that I should have enabled that somehow in smb.conf?

Windows 10 Domainlogon Samba 4.4.5 NT4-style domain
There are only a small network with 10 win7 and 1 win10 at the moment. I think the work of a migration is overkilled. At all this is only a test PC so an generic user profile is the simpler solution in my opinion. Thank you luke. let NT domain "fade out" ?
another special situation ;-) old server at customer runs samba-4.5.15 (not that relevant for my questions but while I am at it ...) and is a "classic PDC" -> NT4 based Yes, I know, I should upgrade/migrate that domain to ADS. But that customer basically does not have financial power ;-) and I wait for my money for months every time I write an invoice. So I want to avoid

Win7 vs. Win10 GPO Editing
Hi, I have a problem with GPO editing. I have some GPO first created with RSAT and GPO editor on Win 7 x64. I have modified recently this object with RSAT and GPO editor on Win 10 x64 . If I try to edit the GPO back to Win7 I got the following error (in french): La ressource ? $(string.SiteDiscoveryEnableWMI) ? r?f?renc?e dans l?attribut displayName est introuvable. Fichier
