it anywhere.

Samba 4 RPC hangs after a while
Hello all,
?
this is my first Post in a Mailing List I hope everything goes fine.
?
We are running a Samba 4 DC (4.0.14, Version 4.1.4 has the same problem) as a second DC in our Windows Environment. This server is in a second site.
?
So after a while Samba 4 hangs and it is not possible to talk to the server via the RPC Protocol. So all samba-tools Commands like ?samba-tool drs showrepl? run

DDNS and DHCP problems
Hello all,
I have two new server samba4, with isc-dhcp and Bind. ( Thanks to Louis
's scripts )
The AD was migrate from 2 Windows 2000 servers last friday, with a copy
of them in a private lan.
Today we have shutdown the old windows 2000 server and put the 2 new

The problem is that the DHCP does not update the DNS systematically...
That works with laptops ( which

Securring DHCP, with DDNS
Hello All,
I have 2 samba4 AD server with dhpd and dynamic DNS.
I have well understand that for now it's not possible to have 2 DHCP
server running in the same time.
So I would have at a time only one dhcp server running.
If the first server got a problem I want to manually start the isc-dhcp
service in the second to rescue the system.
But It's not working as I expected...
If I switch

Problems with bind9_dlz when rndc is reloaded
Hi guys,
I'm facing a problems with samba4 + bind9_dlz that consuming my time for several days.
Everything is working fine until samba4 need to update dns when I'm work with more than one DC server. When samba (or bind) need to reload all zones, the module bind9_dlz is shutting down and then all my environment stops and I need to restart the bind to up again.
See my log:

Workaround for bind9 reload bug : samba_dlz Ignoring duplicate zone
Hi samba team !
I'm face with a new problem on a new Samba PDC install (Debian 9).
I don't know why, but systemd run multiples "rndc reconfig" commands
during the init script. So the bind9 log file show :
-> A successful start
-> A failed reconfig (samba_dlz Ignoring duplicate zone)
at each boot/reboot.
So I need to restart bind9 each time manually. I created a wrapper

Bind_DLZ krb errors @ startup.
Hi,
I have 2 self compiled samba 4 DCs running 4.7.7 on Centos 7.5. One of them
is operating normally. On the other DC bind will not start. I turned up
debugging on dlz_bind as per
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/BIND9_DLZ_DNS_Back_End#Debugging_the_BIND9_DLZ_Module
When I try to start named I get the following in the logs:

DDNS and DHCP problems
Another mistake : The louis's script ddns-kerberos-check.sh was not
running in hourly.cron directory ( i make a chmod 770 to resolve that )
to recall here what I did:
- I cloned the Windows 2000 server AD servers on a private network and I
migrated to samba4
- Meanwhile, users have continued to use the Windows 2000 AD servers on
the production network
- I replaced the production servers

Hello,
I'm writing in regards to this issue I opened on GitHub:
https://github.com/python-ldap/python-ldap/issues/275
I am able to successfully use ldapsearch to query my Samba 4.9.4-Debian DC:
ldapsearch -LLL -Y GSSAPI -H ldap://samba-dc.ad.example.com -b
"dc=ad,dc=example,dc=com" "(objectClass=user)" "sAMAccountName"
However, when I try to use python-ldap I

ddns update fails for reverse zone
Hi everyone.
I have a Linux nsupdate client sending dns update requests via sssd.
Just gone from 4.1.2 to 4.1.3. I've done this:
http://linuxcostablanca.blogspot.com.es/2013/09/samba4-bind9dlz-stale-dns-records-with.html
After which the forward zone update is working fine:

transaction on zone hh3.site

DNS Update not working after update to 4.5.3
I suspect a zone overlap.
Did you add an extra zone manualy in bind?
Or something like this... You added :
Zone1.Domain.TLD and then
Domain.TLD
But then with the reverse zones.
Because this :
> Jan 20 13:58:09 samba02 named[10811]: zone 2.168.192.in-addr.arpa/NONE:
> has no NS records
Does not look likes the samba_DLZ log lines but a pure bind log line.
Review you bind config and
