DNS replication issue
Hi Rowland, Thank you for replying. Please find the output here below. Just a possible tip: _kerberos._tcp.example.com??? service = 0 100 88 addc-new.example.com. output is present on the new machine but if we issue a host -t SRV _kerberos._tcp.example.com on addc2 it does not appear in the list. Kind regards. Collected config? --- 2019-12-18-20:30 ----------- Hostname: addc-new DNS Domain:

Configure DHCP to update DNS records problem
Hello all, After several days of working on this, I'm stuck. Hopefully someone can point out what I'm missing here. I'm working with this script to dynamically update my Samba AD DC DNS: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records Short of it: The script does not update the DNS records due to samba-tool failing for some unknown reason. FW: samba_kcc issue after joining the domain as a DC
I'm sorry, after double-checking the Louis's link I've found that the domain zone should be domain-wide, while the _msdcs stuff should be forest wide. I'll change it and try again. Apologies. >>>>> # samba-tool dns zonelist 172.26.1.81 >>>>> Password for [administrator at domain.com]: >>>>> 2 zone(s) found >>>>>

Fresh ad installation - Win2022 can't join
Good morning, and a Happy New Year ? I'd like to setup a test-enviroment, based on Debian Bookworm and mjt's 4.19.3 packages. samba is running as a Hyper-V vm, its ip is 192.168.178.37, its name is dc.augusta.domain.tld My idea is to use this dc for two networks (192.168.178.0/24 and 192.168.180.0/24) and for testing one Windows 2022 server (192.168.178.34/24). I used these two

samba-tool passwordless
Hi, I'm adding a few DNS RR's using samba-tool. I've tried to use kerberos but I don't know that to append after -k, I mean: samba-tool dns add 192.168.50.40 ejemplo.com samba4 A 192.168.50.40 -k "something" No clue after something, I've tried with Kerberos, KERBEROS, EXAMPLE.COM Is it that possible? Thanks in advance -- -- Sergio Belkin LPIC-2 Certified -
