missing group affiliation on ad dc
Might I found (a reason for) my problem. Domain ID's and BUILTIN ID's are overlapping. For example "EXAMPLE\domain admins" has gid "512", "EXAMPLE\backup" has gid "10039" and "BUILTIN\print operators" has 550. Could this be a problem? My strange group/share access-problem stillt exists, I can't figure it out >.< By the

No I've this problem: Linux (for example via "ll") shows the Name of Domain in front of user/group. root at server:/media/intranet# ll insgesamt 28K drwxrwx---+ 4 root root 4,0K Aug 10 09:05 ./ drwxr-xr-x 22 root

group membership inconsistency on AD domain member
Hi, I've been running a samba server with winbind (CentOS 7) as a member of an AD Domain (Windows 2012 R2) for several months without a problem. "Suddenly" I'm seeing the problem that the membership in newly created AD groups isn't correctly visible for some users on the samba server or only after some indefinite amount of time. I'm looking simply at the output of

samba4 and terminalserver licensing
Hi, I'm using three Windows Server 2012R1 (1x Terminalserver-License-Server+Citrix Studio, 2x Terminalserver-Sessionhosts+Citrix VDA) and a debian Server with samba4 running on. I used the following How-To: http://blog.virtualarchitect.nl/2014/01/how-to-configure-rds-2012-licensing-in-a-citrix-xendesktop-7-scenario/comment-page-1/#comment-24342 But the two Terminalserver-Sessionhosts are

Sieve vacation reply problem (Dovecot+Sieve/Sendmail/Horde)
Hello Dovecot community, I have an annoying problem with successfully activating Sieve vacation replies - on which I have been working hard the last days without success :( I'm using Dovecot 2.2 + Sendmail + Sieve connected with Horde web-mailer IMP H3 which is generally working fine. BUT: Whenever I activate vacation script in Horde (via Ingo) and send a test-mail to this account, the mail

Windows user domain accounts getting locked out regularly
Hi All, We have a mixed environment running with Windows and Linux with samba as the domain controller.  Smart card login is configured and working properly with pkinit and certs, etc (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_Smart_Card_Login) though I don't think this is related. A handful of Windows clients are regularly getting their accounts locked during what seems to be a

BUG report: doveadm HEADER <field> <pattern> when concatenating with another Search key
Hey there, I'm pretty sure I've found a bug with doveadm when concatenating with another search key. While doveadm HEADER <field pattern> works fine when not using additional search keys, it doesn't work properly when concatenating with other serarch keys - it then simply seems to ignore the additional HEADER <field pattern> search key. It's reproduceable, also

old files not getting deleted
Howdy, I've been having a bear of a time tracking this down. I'm currently using rsync to back a bunch of servers up to a ZFS pool on a server. I recently noticed my deltas between ZFS snapshots seemed a bit large, so I started looking more closely at what was being backed up. Looking at some Maildirs, I found that messages (files) that had been deleted on the server were not being

Quotas not working over NFS?
Hi I have a problem with displaying quotas on a NFS client running CentOS 5. It works fine in the sense that I can display the quota for a user when running the quota command as root, It does not work when running as a ordinary user as shown in the example below. What can be the cause of that? # quota exampleuser Disk quotas for user exampleuser (uid 4242): Filesystem blocks quota limit

Group share problem
Hi I've set up some group accessible shares on a rhel4u8 linux box running samba 3.0.33 This appeared to be functioning correctly (a week ago) but now users are having issues with accessing the shares when mapped to a drive in Windows XP. Shares were set up as follows: [Project] comment = Project area path = /home/mymount/Project writable = yes directory

Cannot change NTACL for share from Windows
I just joined a freshly installed Linux machine with Samba 4.11.6 to my Windows AD, as a domain member. Followed the Wiki to a T, domain join without errors, I can enumerate users/groups, I can create shares and work with them from Windows (all that matters to me). Unfortunately, however, I don't seem to be able to change share security settings, i.e. ACL from Windows. Whenever I do so, I get

Windows clients require reboot once a day in order to access mapped drives
Hi Viktor, Do note, > winbind enum users = yes > winbind enum groups = yes Set these to winbind enum users = no winbind enum groups = no It's only slowing down your server and if you need the outputs, use : getent passwd username Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens > Viktor
