Kodi is a GUI app. There is no "shell" or "exit to shell" feature. It calls library functions and does not call the "smbclient"

Kodi crashes when trying to browse network
Hai, Ok, we have 2 last things to try. Change in : /etc/nsswitch.conf Only this line. hosts:      files dns myhostname mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] There are know problems with the search orders. A guess, but worth a try. Last, what if you run kodi as root? I did run it as a normal user. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces

problem authenticating users to Active Directory after Ubuntu 12.04 -> 14.04 upgrade
To be safe, I performed a clean installation of Ubuntu 14.04 to make sure the upgrade process wasn't breaking things. I am able to join a domain, however it will always tell me invalid password when trying to log in with a domain account. I guess that the major change was going from Samba3 to Samba4 with these versions. I don't see anything crazy in the samba logs. Am I missing

Problems to authenticate Ubuntu 14 on Samba4
Hi, I have saw many tutorials to ingress Ubuntu 14 in the Samba4 domain, but none worked properly. I put the Ubuntu workstation in the Domain, but when I try to login, appear the following messenge: "your password will be expire in 42 days " and does not permit the authentication. How can I configure correctly Ubuntu 14 workstation to authenticate in the Samba 4 domain? Thanks

Winbind not able to start
Hi guys, we're testing the domain join of a Debian Wheezy machine to an Samba 4.17 AD with BIND9 backend (Debian Jessie). I can join the domain with "net ads join" alright, but "wbinfo -u" delivers nothing, cause winbind is not able to start. /etc/init.d/winbind status tells me it is not running. If I try winbindd -S -F I receive: initialize_winbindd_cache: clearing
