samba 3 performance with windows 7 workstations
My customer has a Centos Linux 5.10 server running Samba 3. (Samba version 3.0.33-3.40.el5_10) The machine is about three years old. I suggested that they should consider replacing it with a Centos 6 machine and Samba 4, but they decided as it was doing its job without any issues to keep it as is. I also suggested updating to samba3x but they decided not to do this. I recently installed a centos

R4.1: seq.POSIXt, tz="AEST" (PR#9572)
Times from seq.POSIXt come out wrong in AEST timezone around Feb 29 every leap year before 1970 (on Windows XP). According to help(DateTimeClasses), this is handled by "our own C code". > x <- as.POSIXct("1968-02-27") # tz="AEST" > x.gmt <- as.POSIXct("1968-02-27", tz="GMT") > data.frame( GMT=seq(x.gmt, by="day",

4th DC Unable to Replicate - WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED
G'day All, I've been setting up a new set of DCs, using 4.2.3 and all was going well until I tried to get a 4th DC going. I'm using bind_DLZ, and I think this is where I went wrong. I provisioned the new DC before having set up bind properly (I forgot to "yum install bind bind-util bind-libs") before hand. The provision worked okay, except that it told me

R-devel Digest, Vol 100, Issue 28
I get the same style of path as Hadley. This is on Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1. I start R by clicking on the R-2.31.0 icon. I'd assumed that it was a change that came with R-2.13.0! (On 32-bit Windows XP, which I have just checked, I do indeed get the 8.3 paths.) > R.home() [1] "C:/Programs/R/R-2.13.0" > sessionInfo() R version 2.13.0 (2011-04-13) Platform:

I have the following setup: VOIP provider = VOIP GW (asterisk GW1) = VOIP server (asterisk - VS1) The gateway is there to get around the limitations running on the VOIP server. I can call out from and receive calls VS1 no problems at all. However, when I try and redirect an inbound call out via the GW, it drops out. I have found that if I

Fwd: net rpc lookup from group names that start with "-"
Hi , Thank you for your input. I have had tried all of the escape characters you have have tested with but I have had no luck with them. I am curious to know which versions of net have you been tested with? I do agree that the best practice for this is to remove "-" from the beginning of the object name, However, seeing that it can be created that way allowed, I would like to find a

ipportfw - security
Hi Are there any known security holes or necessary precautions in using port forwarding with ipportfw? I'm planning on forwarding ports from an outer firewall/router (connected to the Internet) to a host in the DMZ, then on from the DMZ host to the inner firewall, and finally from the inner firewall to some host on the inside. Thanks, Jens jph@strengur.is From mail@mail.redhat.com Wed

Follow Me CID
Hi, We have recently implemented asterisk as the office PBX, and as a GUI, we chose Elastix. All seems quite easy and am very pleased with the way Asterisk is running and handling calls. To summarize briefly, our setup looks like this: LAN -> Asterisk PBX (Elastix) -> Asterisk TDM (basic CLI with libSS7) We get a whole 3 digit number series from our telco. So, like, +1 312 765 7xxx
