Can't access samba because "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID"
Thanks Rowland,
I didn't think i was doing all of this in an outdated way (it really makes
sense, as much of the tutorials i've followed come from before 2010 and
there's barely no recent tutorials regarding these issues).
So i'm gonna follow your suggestion. However, how can i deal with the LDAP
server? This base is big and it's a mandatory feature i need to implement

Can't access samba because "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID"
Thank you Rowland, now i can see a way to make it work finally.
The OpenLDAP server users will still grow as time goes by. What should i do
to keep the synchonization of the new LDAP users with the created AD users?
Is it like i'll have the same base twice?

Can't access samba because "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID"
Sorry for my delay in answering Rowland, i had an emergency trip.
The ldap is used only for authentication, that's right, but a lot of
services on institution here use it. So if i turn off ldap machine, all
that services gonna stop working, so i'm not allowed to do this.
Afterall, i managed to use Samba 4 to consult LDAP and log in by using it's
user credentials stored, recovered my

The ldap server is used for some other web services of the institution like
to log in GItlab, Redmine etc. Also, used to log in Linux machines of the
labs.
What would be the solution for that case?

Can't access samba because "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID"
Yes, i didn't mention but i'm using Debian, thanks.
I've read the link you've sent but i think i didn't understand. Sorry if
i'm looking dumb about Samba stuff, but i really am :') It's my first time
dealing with Samba.
Just to clarify more, the first thing i should do is configure Samba 4 as
an AD DC, then after this step set up Samba as a Domain Member?

Samba v3 works with LDAP, but not Samba v4
Hi, i'm new to this discussion here but i reading and remembered i've
solved almost the same problem you're having.
I was connecting a Samba 4 standalone server with an existent LDAP server
which was already being used as backend for a Samba 3. On the process of
connecting SMB4 i had that SID mismatch issue. To solve it, i used "net
setdomainsid" to set SMB4 domain SID to

But if i change in smbldap.conf *computersdn="ou=machine,${suffix}"* to *

Samba roaming profile with folder redirection
Hi,
I have a domain controller which was configured to use the local profiles. We
have a relatively small group whose work required it. Now we are moving toward
using the domain for all machine with roaming profile. There are a lot of
posts dealing with the roaming profiles and the folder redirection. But I've
met some issues.
My configuration:
NS3 and SMB are hostnames of our servers.

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID in a SDC
Hi
Thanks for you answer
1. Sorry It was a mistype: The version is samba_4.3.8+dfsg-1~bpo80+1.
I backported from stretch to jessie as I want to keep my Debian
environment clean.
I do not fancy to compile it from source. I am a bit old fashion :-) :-) :-)
2. I use PDC and SDC as a legacy from previous versions. I Undestand why
it is outdated but actually, even in Samba4, It is kind of true:

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID in a SDC
Hi All
I have a running SAMBA PDC on Debian Jessie on a PowerPC. I have
backported Samba 4.3.18 and is working well.
I have installed a SDC (if I may use that name) on a different network,
the same version of Samba but on a Debian Jessie on AMD64. I followed
every instruction in
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_an_additional_Samba_DC_to_an_existing_Active_Directory.
So every test

wbinfo problems and documentation questions
Hi all,
I have a samba pdc running 3.0.20 + the patches on
http://hostopia.samba.org/samba/patches running RHEL4 on an x86_64 platform. I
have configured it to use an ldapsam backend per
http://us2.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/2000users.html
Since there is not much in the way of testing listed in the "2000users" section
I used the tests listed under the making users happy

Hi, where did you get 4.3.18 from ??? or do you mean 4.3.8, if so, try
again with 4.3.9, this has some updates for regressions that 4.3.8
introduced.
Oh and a 'PDC' is something else entirely, you have

force user and NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID
Welcome everyone,
I have to bother you and pick up your brains as I struggle to configure
samba the way I want. It's the first time I deal with Samba4 as I'm trying
to migrate boxes running on Centos 5 with Samba3 to Centos 7 with Samba4.
The configuration I use works great on Samba 3 however when I use the same
config on Samba4 I manage to authenticate as the user but once I want to

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID
OK, I am both panicked and lost now. I stopped Samba, uninstalled,
removed the source directory, removed every Samba directory on the
system (/var/lib/samba, /var/log/samba, /var/cache/samba,
/var/run/samba, /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/samba), rebooted,
cloned 4-5-stable, configured, built, installed, provisioned a new
domain, and this is what I get. I am following the guide to the letter.
