Getting "Error: No such host" and [ERR ACCESS-DENIED]
I'm using NUT 2.4.1 with openSUSE 11.2, my UPS is an MGE/Eaton
Ellipse ASR 1500 USBS. The set-up is as described at
http://rogerprice.org/NUT.html.
Since NUT uses TCP wrappers, I have the /etc/hosts.allow entry

When I pull the plug from the wall to test my setup, I get the

I'm following these guides to setup print shares
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_and_configure_file_shares_with_Windows_ACLs
When I go to my windows workstation to change the ACL's on the print$ share
I can get into the security tab and I can change the security options

windows acl not saving, no error, nothing in log file
Regarding the insertion of "user_xattr,acl,barrier=1" in to /etc/fstab
file.
The Sambawiki page 'https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/OS_Requirements'
has instructions there for ext4 to include this.
I seen it commented here, in the mailing list, many time that this is
now default for ext4.
Maybe the wiki page should be changed?

I'm currently working on evalutating a AD-Domain for my Department. Since I have a couple of year experince in running a NT-Style Domain, my choice is samba - nowadays AD-DS.
Now I'm stuck, and I would really appreciate some more thoughts and a push in the right direction. :-)
Thank your in advance

Samba 4 posixGroup mapping
Hi
I've created a Samba 4 group called suseusers and mixed in posixGroup
and gidNumber using samba-tool group add as a basis.
It works, e.g. when I added an existing user to the group:
getent group suseusers
suseusers:*:2000:
and
getent passwd steve4
steve4:x:3000019:2000:steve4:/home/CACTUS/steve4:/bin/bash
and
id
uid=3000019(steve4) gid=2000(suseusers) groups=2000(suseusers)

Did anyone encounter same issue?

Cannot Find Windows Shared Printer
I am running CentOS 7 with Samba version 4.9.1. I have a Windows shared
printer that I cannot set up but I am not sure if this is a CentOS issue
or a Samba issue. When I run the printer setup GUI, it is not able to
find any shared printer. If I run smbclient I get this error:

client min protocol = SMB2
Hello,
Thank you !
I add server min protocol = SMB2_02 to smb.cnf
All clients are now using SMB2_10 as minimum protocol version
May you indicate me the difference between "client min protocol" and
"server min protocol" ?
"server min protocol" is to use on a domain member
"client min protocol" is to use in which case ?
Should I also set client min

I am using Samba as Active Directory Domain Controller as well as file

I recently upgraded a bunch of computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10

when I try to add a new permission to a folder or file on Samba shares
through the Advanced security tab I cannot do it because the
