If from source. https://ftp.samba.org/pub/ldb/ldb-1.2.3.tar.gz If its debian/ubuntu. Then you can get a ready source here. echo "deb-src http://apt.van-belle.nl/debian stretch-samba47 main contrib non-free" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/van-belle.list If you use jessie , change stretch-samba47 to jessie-samba47 But my guess is the Op uses OpenSuse then its this link.

You choose the samba you want to run and you stay at that version until you change the repo.   The site info isnt updated yet with this, i'll do that after i finish up with

Hai, Sorry for all delays, it was needed. I have also restructured the repo setup a bit, so package re-use is better which saved me some time. This resulted in a samba 4.8 for jessie, no need for multiple repo lines anymore. You choose the samba you want to run and you stay at that version until you change the repo. Hello Everyone, Good evening! Here a Background: I am moving from samba47 to samba48 - I am keeping my existing scripts and config files. possible memory leak in ldb module while dbcheck on RODC
Hai Andrej, Oeps, Sorry, my mistake 4.6.x needs at least 1.1.29. But you can upgrade to 4.6.x ;-) Check again and if that problem then still exists, then i think you can better ask this one in the samba-technical list. Or if Rowland knows something more about this. One tip, wait untill tomorrow or the weekend, there wil be a new release due to the regression bug. There planning is to be

Hi, This morning three of our FreeBSD-11.1-p11 servers with Samba 4.7.7 installations started to ignore ACL settings and reject user access to shares.  All three servers are members of DC running on Windows Server 2008R2.  Everything has been running ok for last few year.  I have been upgrading Samba and FreeBSD installations and on last Friday upgraded to the latest packages from

use spnego question - samba 47 to samba48 migration
In Time. Checking the services, folders and permissions, it seems samba48 does not follow exactly the same samba47 model. When restarting samba47 by using "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/samba_server restart" I could see all three services being restarted (smbd, nmbd and winbind) Now restarting samba48 I can see 2 services only (smbd and nmbd); The Winbind seems to be separated. I could not find

use spnego question - samba 47 to samba48 migration
Hi Rowland, Thanks Much for the help, as usual! About Kerberos: Yes, I have implemented Kerberos and NTLM. I need both working. About winbindd_privileged: Not sure what you mean with " I think you might want to check that again, the 'winbindd_privileged' dir went away quite some time ago." Shouldn't that folder be there anymore? Everytime I install Samba47 or 48 it creates
