Reverse zones fail with secure updates
Hai James, So a windows xp works but Win7/10 not, at least is good hint. So, i did have a look in my setup again. And i'm thinking, i have disabled ipv6 for my windows 7 and win 10 pc's. That may be an option.. A thing you can try, have a look here : http://www.bvanleeuwen.nl/faq/?p=1142 ipv6 Admx to simple disable ipv6. I've set : Disable all IPv6 components. I also

Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
Hello, I HAVE sniffed the network traffic for this w2k client and provided the link via paste.ubuntu.com, so everybody can look inside that without the need of extra-tools like wireshark. And as I realized you have looked into that sniffed result output. I did it this way, because I work on an isolated test env which I cannot access through my computers and do file transfers. And I dont

server max protocol appropriate values
Using Wireshark I see the protocol used as SMB2. Using a Windows workstation I tested by navigating to files and folders on my member server or to my sysvol folder on a DC. I have to add noise: Provisioning a DC with sernet 4.1.x called NT1 as max default with me. Am 6. M?rz 2015 18:28:55 MEZ, schrieb James <lingpanda101 at gmail.com>: >OK. Now I'm really confused. Join 2012 Server R2 as member to NT domain
I don't have anything but Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 to test with. 2003 joins the domain without issue. 2008 and 2012 will not. The registry has been updated on both: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters] "DNSNameResolutionRequired"=dword:00000000

Are secure DNS updates truly working?
Hi team, I recently upgrade some servers from v4.3.5 (affected by https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11520 ) to v4.5.8 (default in Debian Stretch) and was expecting secure DNS updates to be working again, but they are not. My logs show the same issues reported on bug 11520: [2017/08/29 15:21:01.990467, 2] ../source4/dns_server/dns_update.c:773(dns_server_process_update) Got a dns

switchtower, windows and dispatch.fcgi
I just setup switchtower and I am very happy with it. Just one thing is giving me some headache: My development machine is windows and my deployment host is Unix. Each time I deploy I need to make dispatch.fcgi executable. I wrote my own task for that. But does there exist any smarter way to get this automated ? I think Subversion offers some possiblity to declare a file as executable, but no idea

pxelinux.0 not fully booting in EFI 64 mode...not requesting ldlinux.e64 via TFTP...
All, I was excited to hear about EFI boot support in pxelinux >= 6.00. So I tried it. Not working. I've tried 6.02 (from source), 6.02 (from RPM), early 6.03 (from RPM) and even pulled/compiled latest source from git. 6.0.3-pre7. No love. My boot client can boot/image fine in legacy PXE mode. My dhcpd.conf looks like this: # In initial DHCP DISCOVER packet, PXE client sets option

3.6.23-25.el6_7 and 4.2.10 and "Domain Admins" are/not Admins?
hi all I have two different Samba versions as PDC and BDC and depending on which one is "domain master" users which are domain admins are not recognized as such. Everything seems normal with 3.6.23-25.el6_7 as "domain master" but when I configure them so 4.2.10 is the master then I login to Win7 fine but Windows tells me that the user is not an Admin and I need to supply
