Repacking database from v1 to v2 format: how long does it take?
hi all, I updated a small domain with 8k object to samba-4.11.0 and the database conversion from v1 to v2 didn't take a noticeable time. On the other hand, in a larger domain with 67k object, where the sudo ./bin/samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix takes ~40 minutes, 2 hours and half were not enough to complete the conversion. Is it a couple of hours something expected if dbcheck takes so

get_share_mode_lock: get_static_share_mode_data failed: NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY
Upgraded to Samba 4.11.2 and I?ve now too started seeing the message: get_share_mode_lock: get_static_share_mode_data failed: NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY A lot. I modified the source in source3/locking/share_mode_lock.c a bit in order to print out the values of the service path, smb_fname & old_write_time when it fails and it seems they are all NULL? RPM creation question
Hi, Is there any nice way in a .spec file to tell rpmbuild not to call brp-java-repack-jars? Some Web Searching indicates that most people just hack the script. Is there a better way ?

Replacing email envelope
Hi, Could you please advice how I can replace envelope of a message received on my server? Best would be using sieve. Simple case - email A at example.com ?receives message, which I'd like to repack into new envelope (I want to have control what values in the envelope will be there - from, to, replay-to et.c) and send to B at test.com . At first I wanted to use editheader

Looking for suggestions: Inferring GPU memory accesses
@Ees, Oh, I see what you mean now. Doing such analysis would be useful for a thread block and not just a single thread but as you say you are onto something bigger than just a thread. We had published a short paper in ICS around this which uses polyhedral techniques to do such analysis and reason about uncoalesced access patterns in Cuda programs. You can find paper at

defining columns in a matrix
Hi all, I have the following 7 x 7 matrix. ?I am trying to figure out how to label the columns to something more descriptive other than [,1], [,2], etc. I have tried the c(x,y,z,) function, but I get a error returned stating that my vectors need to be the same length. Do I need to convert this to something else such as a list and then repack it? Thanks, Kindra ?? ? ? ? Volume Time ? ? ? ?[,1]

gencache.tdb size and cache flush
Unfortunately I didn’t seem to have saved one of those big gencache.tdb files (we don’t currently see them). Or at least I can’t seem to find them now… A while ago when we first discovered this I posted a message: https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2017-December/212577.html <https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2017-December/212577.html> I now notice that I never replied to a

10 year old question
Hi All, I used to run webdt.org and this was built to support a tablet computer that hit the market around the late 90?s. DT Research makes them and they get sold to mostly enterprise applications. That being said there are still a few hundred thousand of these in circulation. The hardware is a bit of a hack. Its usb1.1 with a 44 pin flash module on 44 pin pata half height headers. MFGR

monorepo: bad performance when using gitk / git log
Hi! Anyone else experiencing performance problems when using the new monorepo? My experience is that performance of gitk (and git log) sometimes is really bad when working in the monorepo. I've mainly seen it when using gitk on specific files/directories, but since gitk seems to be using "git log --no-color -z --pretty=raw --show-notes --parents --boundary HEAD -- <file>" it

A Fresh Start with LLVM
Yes, it's not bad. You can actually reduce the size of the .git directory to 597 MB by running "git repack -a -d -f --depth=250 --window=250". This takes less than 5 minutes on a 16 core Xeon. Unfortunately I've never found a way to get such a nicely packed repo into github such that it checks out for others as nicely as it was when I uploaded it :-( On Mon, May 14, 2018 at

Joining Windows 2008 Domain as DC fails 4.10 (and 4.11rc3)
Hi, I am trying to add a samba DC to an existing Domain that has 2 Win2016 Domain Controllers but is still running at Domain Functional and Forest levels 2008R2. When I run the join command it goes most of the way through before eventually erring out, and backing out everything it had done. The command I used is samba-tool domain join MYDOMAIN DC -U"administrator at mydomain.ext" -d
