FW: Internal DNS migrate to Bind9_DLZ
Hai,   I've checked out the log you send and i re-read the complete thread.   Based on thats done and what i did see in you logs now, looks like a  * (wildcard)  entry is giving the problem. But i am not sure of that, the wildcard bugs should be fixed, when i look in bugzilla.  (#10435 #12952 )   I've forwarded the mail to Rowland also before we go throw things at you again. ;-)

Internal DNS migrate to Bind9_DLZ
It is part of the Sernet packages and is currently on 1.3.4 /usr/lib64/samba/libldb.so.1.3.4 We started using sernet-samba-ad from v4 using the internal dns and updated as versions were released. We have now recently updated from 4.8.2 to 4.8.3 and still using internal dns. Our DNS is working as it should, it's only been since recently that we have to migrate to bind9. On Mon, Jul 30, 2018

Internal DNS migrate to Bind9_DLZ
Hello Roland/Louis & All, All the best for the new year. Sorry to bring this up again. I finally managed to give some more attention to this issue of mine. I've set up a new test domain server, and I managed to seamless migrate from SAMBA_INTERNAL to BIND9_DLZ and the other way again. With a little help of new software we purchased, I exported all data from production and imported the

Problems with bind9_dlz when rndc is reloaded
Mathias, Thanks for your reply. Please, try to start your bind with some debug level and run commando "rndc reload" and see the end of the log. I saw samba source code and found the destroy dns function in dlz_bind9.c and called by turture blz_bind9.c. When dlz_bind9.c is shutting down, I get this error when I try to update dns. update failed: NOTAUTH Failed nsupdate: 2

Thanks Roland, You are correct. Our Bind9 DLZ is version 9.9.4. I'll have to check if I will be able to upgrade to a newer version of Bind, these are on our production servers. Problems with bind9_dlz when rndc is reloaded
Using your log parameters, the shutting down message is not showed, but when I reload rndc a get the same effect. Everything is working fine until bond9_dlz needs to reload (and no restart) rndc. When this happens, I need to restart bind and everything works fine again. I'm starting named with named -d 3 -u named and using /var/log/messages. See log using your parameters: # rndc reload

Internal DNS migrate to Bind9_DLZ
@Rowland, The application can export in multiple file formats, ldif as well. Would you like a sample of the entire domain or only the schema or any specific? Okay, now I'm with you, I am aware of how to update samba. We have been updating Samba the normal way using the repository. We have been doing updates as should from version 4 moving up slowly to version 4.9.4, not all in a go but
