"file not found" under high-contention
Hello, For several years I've been experiencing an intermittent Samba error when running a very intense, highly parallel build/compile jobset. A file is reported as "not found" even though it most certainly exists and re-running the compile jobset always succeeds. Samba version is 3.6.4 running on CentOS 5.8 with 64-bit kernel 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5. Windows side is 64-bit Window

But it can run for hours at a time. This is happening

Samba Transaction Implementation
Hi, I am enhancing the Samba Server on our product (VxWorks on the box) to support Long Name. So I started implementing the dialect "LM1.2X002" (first dialects that support Long Name, the current dialect that we support is PC Network Program). I have implemented the Negotiation, Tree Connect AndX and Open AndX command. When I try access the shared drive of our product, after the

Constant error messages about failure to remove oplock
Hi All, Need your help/inputs on what could be the probable cause/how to debug this further. We are using samba-4.0.25 & expose a share that has oplocks enabled & no kernel-oplocks set. We constantly see these messages in samba logs [2015/06/25 03:05:30.593150, 0, pid=1581, class=locking] ../source3/smbd/oplock_linux.c:184(linux_release_kernel_oplock) linux_release_kernel_oplock:

NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate and smbmounted Win shares
Setting this dword to 1 in HKLM/CurrentControlSet/Control/FileSystem is supposed to suppress updates of a file's Access Time attribute when browsing but even read-only accesses with NotePad or plain copy leave no traces. However, if you cp or cat (or for that matter tar) a file on an smbmounted Win share, the Access Time is updated regardless of the setting of NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate.

Samba 4.3.11
What condition would cause smbd to call quotactl every minute? It also does a stat64 on each mount point in the mtab file.

Listen to ARI events
I’ve reread the documentation a few times, and what isn’t clear is whether I need an app=X parameter in the url. In other words, can I only get events for a single named statis app? Or can I get events for the entire Asterisk server? The command below (without app= parameter) results in no events being shown, but no error either. Thanks Brian (Ast newbie) From: asterisk-users

Tunnelled migrate Windows7 VMs halted
[moderator note: I'm forwarding a stripped down version of the original mail which was rejected in the moderator queue. I stripped the 3.3 megabyte .tar.bz2 of the log file attachment, which is inappropriate for a technical list. Either trim the log to the relevant portion, or host the log externally and have your list email merely give a URL of the externally-hosted file] >

Re: LIbvirt Python Snapshot -Domain Crashing
Martin, Actually domain doesn't crash, but it state got changed to pause, till the snapshot action got complete. Its a time consuming process. so here is my requirement. I want to take snapshot of a Running Domain on every 3 hours,( at a later point of time It should be possible to revert to the actual domain state when I took the snapshot), I'm using libvirt APIs python bindings, there

Recover snapshots from qcow images
Hi guys, I had to move to the new laptop week ago and I screw migration of my virtual machines. I recovered my virtual machines on the new laptop (virsh define) using the backed up xml files, but I am missing any file with metadata about snapshots. The original storage is cleaned so I cannot take these files anymore. Using qemu-info I can see my snapshots inside the qcow images, but libvirt

[OT] search for implementation of GetThreadTimes
Hello, I would like to ask a question which is not related to wine, but i think that wine developpers could answer it, or maybe help me a bit. I am working on the linux port of a win32 program. This one uses two functions about win32 threads: GetCurrentThread GetThreadTimes I have found in nt2unix an implementation of the first one. But not for the latter. I have seen that 2 years ago,

Logon Script is not executed: STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Last week we finally upgraded our servers from Samba 3 to Samba 4 and so far everything runs smoothly. For now we run 4.15.13 with an old NT-style domain while we are preparing to migrate to Samba AD-style domain. Since the upgrade we have the issue that the logon scripts are not executed for domain users. It works a 100% for domain admins and 0% for non admin users and we have no idea why. We

New messaging.
After moving from samba 4.0.0rc5 to 4.3.11. There seems to be a fair amount of disk activity. It seems to center around the msg.sock messaging. IS there away to disble the messaging temporarily? To verify that it is causing the problem? Thanks
