Hello, For several years I've been experiencing an intermittent Samba error when running a very intense, highly parallel build/compile jobset. A file is reported as "not found" even though it most certainly exists and re-running the compile jobset always succeeds. Hi All, Need your help/inputs on what could be the probable cause/how to debug this further. We are using samba-4.0.25 & expose a share that has oplocks enabled & no kernel-oplocks set. Setting this dword to 1 in HKLM/CurrentControlSet/Control/FileSystem is supposed to suppress updates of a file's Access Time attribute when browsing but even read-only accesses with NotePad or plain copy leave no traces. However, if you cp or cat (or for that matter tar) a file on an smbmounted Win share, the Access Time is updated regardless of the setting of NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate.

What condition would cause smbd to call quotactl every minute? It also does a stat64 on each mount point in the mtab file.

I’ve reread the documentation a few times, and what isn’t clear is whether I need an app=X parameter in the url. In other words, can I only get events for a single named statis app? Last week we finally upgraded our servers from Samba 3 to Samba 4 and so far everything runs smoothly. For now we run 4.15.13 with an old NT-style domain while we are preparing to migrate to Samba AD-style domain.
