smb2 create
Why is a windows 10 pro system issuing a sequence of smb2 commands every 30 seconds or so? SMB2:C CREATE(0x5), Sh(None), QFid, File=NULL@#15679 followed by SMB2:C QUERY INFORMATION(0x10),Class=Query FS Full Size, FID=0xB7CD3148(NULL@#15679) Folowed by SMB2:C CLOSE(0x6),FID=0xB7CD3148(NULL@#15679 Not sure why this sequence starts or stops. But it can run for hours at a time. This is happening

New messaging.
After moving from samba 4.0.0rc5 to 4.3.11. There seems to be a fair amount of disk activity. It seems to center around the msg.sock messaging. IS there away to disble the messaging temporarily? To verify that it is causing the problem? Thanks

Failed to find cifs/foo.bar in keytab MEMORY:cifs_srv_keytab (arcfour-hmac-md5)]
Hi. I'm using Samba 4.3.11 as a domain member on FreeBSD 10.x. Some of my users (around 1%) are experiencing problems from time to time, browsing this server's shares in Windows Explorer - it starts to ask for the password. It doesn't ask the password while accesssing it via it's IP address, and I see in its logs the following (when accessing it via its name): [2016/09/20

Samba 4.3.11 accessing disk every minute
The latest version that Western Digital has shipped with the My cloud devices accesses the disk about twice a minute. The access to /dev/sda2 is causing the system to keep the disk from going into standby mode. I don't understand the call to quotactl every minute when no one is trying to access the share. An strace of one of the processes shows the following: poll([{fd=13,

What does this warning message (from optim function) mean?
Hi R users, I am trying to use the optim function to maximize a likelihood funciton, and I got the following warning messages. Could anyone explain to me what messege 31 means exactly? Is it a cause for concern? Since the value of convergence turns out to be zero, it means that the converging is successful, right? So can I assume that the parameter estimates generated thereafter are reliable MLE

Strange behaviour of setwd/getwd
I've found the following strange behaviour R (RStudio) which has been confirmed by another user in RGui. Inside a script I want to set two variables: default.wd = getwd() tmp.wd = setwd(choose.dir()) After choosing tmp.wd the value of default.wd is shown in Workspace, but getwd() is giving back the correct string of tmp.wd. Is there a workaround for the problem? I'm working on

should sub(perl=TRUE) also handle \E in replacement, to complement \U and \L?
Currently sub(perl=TRUE) allows you to specify \U and \L in the replacement argument so that the rest of the subpatterns in the line (the \\<digit> things) will be converted to upper or lower case, respectively. perl also also has a \E operator to end these case conversions for the rest of the subpatterns (so they retain whatever case they had in the original text). For symmetry's sake

create QFID request
What is the function of the create QFID request. Looking at the request it does not seem to have any name or other discernible information. I've searched the web for information on how to decode the request. The monitor breaks down most of the block. But the file name seems to be null. The response to the request also does not have a file name. But it does show lastaccesstime creationtime

FXO registration and VegaStream
I am trying to configure a VegaStream 50 FXO to work with asterisk. The problem that I am having is that the VegaStream does not support incoming registration from asterisk. VegaStream only allows outbound registration. My question is does asterisk allow incoming registration from an FXO? If yes how? Or better yet, has anybody been able to make the VegaStream FXO work with asterisk? According
