samba-tool -k option requires an argument but which one:)
Hello,
maybe someone can help me to get this right.:)
samba 4.1.3 on Debian
the samba-tool manpage says:
...
-k KERBEROS|--kerberos=KERBEROS
Use Kerberos
...
adding a dns record works as expected:
root at samba:~# samba-tool dns add localhost example.com www CNAME web.example.com
Password for [administrator at EXAMPLE.COM]:
Record added successfully
Now trying to use the -k

ERROR_DNS_UPDATE_FAILED and NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
Okay!!! My member server ip address is 192.168.**.56 (static).
When I run your command it is reporting the ip address of 192.168.**.55
(which is my DC02 address.)
So, I need to correct this. How do I remove the 'old member server' ip
address 192.168.**.55 reference and correct to 192.168.**.56?

Problem after upgrading to 4.9
Hai,
Can you post
/etc/krb5.conf
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/hosts
Output off:
samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs
And last question, are there any DC removed from the domain.
50abc2a4-574d-40b3-9d66-ee4fd5fba076/0x00000005,localaddress=> 192.168.50.40]
My guess here the UUID is a removed DC.
You samba config looks fine to me.

AD bind DNS broken after 4.7.3 -> 4.9.2 upgrade
Hi,
I have been running a Samba AD PDC with BIND9_DLZ on a Debian system for
a year now without problems, and in the hope for ability to create AD
backups I upgraded the samba packages (along with other packages with
minor updates).
Everything seemed OK during the upgrade, all processes restarted, but
soon after I found that PAM refuses to authenticate AD usernames. By
checking the samba

Problem after upgrading to 4.9
about that systemd part.
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl samba-ad-dc stop
clear the logs in /va/log/samba
systemctl samba-ad-dc start
and and extra check on the dns part.
sudo /usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate --verbose
and check your logs again to make sure your all ok.
