Problem joining a samba Dc to a winbdows domain
Hi Tom, The problem here is due to fundamental implementation differences in the way Windows and Samba store linked attributes. Your DB is likely fine (no corruptions). During replication (i.e. the join), Windows can sometimes send linked attributes before Samba knows about the source/target objects involved. As Andrew said, historically Samba has handled this by silently dropping these links,

Problems removing a SBS 2008 server from a Samba AD DC.
Hi, I have a samba 4.7.9 DC that I am trying to remove a windows SBS dc from. In doing this I have run across several problems. For whatever reason when I try to dcpromo the windows DC it fails because it says it cannot contact the samba4 DC. I have checked replication as per https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Verifying_the_Directory_Replication_Statuses All of the tests pass. Since we are going

Setup a Samba AD DC as an additional DC
++++++++++++ Wait, I spoke too soon. After reviewing the long list of things it did do, but didn't before... I see, "Join failed - cleaning up". I have not listed the entire list of things it did accomplish but will if needed. Here is the "end" where it appears to go wrong (I think)... Partition[DC=daram,DC=com] objects[5985/14688] linked_values[0/385]

Failed when join to an existing Active Directory Domain
Hi, I've tried to update my samba AD/DC environment. Then, I've removed a existing offline DC with "samba-tool domain demote --remove-other-dead-server=genos". I've re-created "genos" (yes, I try to keep the same name and IP address) and install a 4.10.2 samba version (I know the new version is 4.11.0). When I've tried to join it on my domain, I've received

Problem with samba-tool --reindex
Hi, I have 2 DC's. One is running 4.10.18 and the other is running 4.11.14. I am planning on upgrading the 4.10.18 DC to 4.11.14 and then both up to 4.12r.latest. In doing this I ran samba-tool dbcheck --reindex and got the following warning: (vdc1 pts8) # samba-tool dbcheck --reindex Re-indexing... ../../lib/ldb/ldb_key_value/ldb_kv_index.c:2413: duplicate attribute value in

Hi Heinz, > now the join finished > > but ... i have a high CPU load caused by a samba-process. Samba is consuming 100% of one CPU and the replication fails. you have quite a few objects (>12000) in you main partition. Do you have a large group with all those objects inside? The commit of large group used to result in very very long commit time. There should have been some
