Samba 4.0.21 and Windows 10
Hi,
I've got a problem with Windows 10 Education (last build) and my Samba PDC
(under Fedora).
All machines with Windows 7 can join domain successfully. But with Windows
10, I've got "network path not found" error.
I've changed all registry keys that we need to change, but no way

Can't join Windows 10 to classic domain
I've been running Samba 4 in NT4 Domain mode for a few years, and
it's been working fine with Windows 7 PCs.
I now need to join a new Windows 10 PC to the domain, but I'm not
having any success!
When I try to join the domain, the Windows 10 PC says "An Active
Directory Domain Controller could not be contacted...."
I've tried a few things, including:-

Can't join Windows 10 to classic domain
The issue does not seem to be connected to SMB1.
It can be installed and it still won't authenticate.
Something has been changed to force authentication to
AD/DNS either solely or as a first step. The translation
of the netbios name never happens even if the computer
can resolve the name.
Given that the authentication thru netbios resolution
seems to get grandfathered in provided the domain

Windows 10
Hello
We have a problem with our Windows 10 Clients.
Installed on a SLES12 Server is samba v4.4
I can bind the clients to the domain without any problem. Afterwards I want to login in the domain, I get the error,
no logonserver available
I can change in the smb conf max protocol to NT1 -> now it is possible to login with user xxx in the domain
We don't want to use our samba server

Fwd: Not able to join windows 10 clients to samba 3.6.23 NT4 Style PDC
A couple of other issues to keep in mind...
Aside from the fact that the errors suggest your W10 box is trying to join
an AD domain, W10 also defaults to a protocol of SMB 3.3 which Samba 3.x
does not support. If you resolve the issue wherein W10 thinks it is joining
an AD domain, there's a strong possibility (if not certainty) you will then
see errors in the log of the W10 box indicating

Samba 3.2.15 is working with Winows 7 !!!
Hello to all,
After a lot of trying this is the solution for all with samba 3.2.15
installed.
My Windows 7 client machine joins the domain on the fly with this registry
hack.
I can logon without errors and all my netlogon scripts are working:

Join 2012 Server R2 as member to NT domain
Is it still possible to join a Windows 2012 Server R2 system as a member
to a 'pre-NT5' Samba (3.6.23) domain controller? The Windows 'Domain
Change' GUI errors immediately after failing the SRV lookup for the AD
server. Even with the SRV record in place, the GUI fails trying to
connect to the non-existent LDAP port.
Netdom on the command line tries to work if the DC name

Post classicupgrade Windows registry changes?
All,
I am getting ready to tackle a classicupgrade. Test runs have gone well. I
am just wondering about the Windows client machines after the upgrade.
Do I need to remove the previously applied registry changes:
DomainCompatibilityMode
DNSNameResolutionRequired
Do I need to dis-join, and re-join the clients?
Current setup is:
Single Server: Samba NT4/PDC
LDAPsam
New setup is:

Join 2012 Server R2 as member to NT domain
I don't have anything but Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 to test with. 2003
joins the domain without issue. 2008 and 2012 will not. The registry
has been updated on both:

Samba PDC with Windows 7 support request
Dear Samba support team,
I have a question on Samba 3.5.8 please, which is not solved by searching
the forums. I tried all suggested solutions, but nothing take effect.
Situation:

- We have Ubuntu Server 11.04 64-bit
- Samba 3.5.8 as PDC
- Windows XP and Windows 7 Pro SP1 clients
- On Windows XP everything works. Login is quick and reliable there.
Problem:
