Samba4 Auto-start
Hello all,
I'll cut to the chase -- several weeks ago, I thought I had an upstart configuration file that would start Samba4 when the VM was turned on; but it turns out I was wrong. At the time there was nothing on the wiki about it (the links were broken).
The script I thought was working was simply:
start on runlevel [2345]
exec /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba
In any case, looking at the

You can if you want to, but I feel that your problem may have nothing to
do with Samba.

Samba4 - global catalog (GC) cannot be contacted using Windows 7 RSAT
Hi Rowland,
In fact currently in my test environment using the same version of OS 6.10
and Samba 4.8.5.
I ran 'netstat -plaunt | egrep "ntp|bind|named|samba|?mbd"', I have
:::3268, :::3269, I do not see 0.0.0.0:3268 and 0.0.0.03269.
While I use a Windows PC join to my test domain, I have no issues with GC.
Not sure how the GC problem can happen but seems to me it looks like a

Replication problem when adding new DC member
Hi all,
So we have a single AD-DC master, and I'm trying to join a fresh new DC
(DOMAIN-ad.DOMAIN.intranet, 192.168.0.11) to the master

https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory
and I've hit a problem in the section "Built-in User & Group ID

fedora core 2 + bitmap() + ghostscript (PR#7062)
Hi all,
A bug popped up recently when I upgraded to fedora core 2 (from core
1). Whenever I used the bitmap() function, ghostscript complained that
it couldn't handle png or tiff devices. This was NOT a bug with R. It
was with the version of ghostscript shipped with core 2. Going to
rawhide and getting ghostscript 7.07-29 (core 2 comes with 7.07-25)
solved this problem.
Unfortunately, I
