Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Hi list, This might or might not be a Samba related post. Feel free to ignore it in case it is too far off-topic My current understanding is that ... a) I need those new templates in order to fully integrate Win10 clients in an AD domain (i.e. with compatible policies). b) I can only modify policies based on Win10 admx files from Win10 machines (i.e. with the RSAT tools for Win10). Are there

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Viktor, thanks again! Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be applied to Win10 machines, right? I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7 clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7 only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is not fit for

Win7 vs. Win10 GPO Editing
Hi, I have a problem with GPO editing. I have some GPO first created with RSAT and GPO editor on Win 7 x64. I have modified recently this object with RSAT and GPO editor on Win 10 x64 . If I try to edit the GPO back to Win7 I got the following error (in french): La ressource ? $(string.SiteDiscoveryEnableWMI) ? r?f?renc?e dans l?attribut displayName est introuvable. Fichier

Group Policy Settings Missing/Not Applying
Hi, Im attempting to apply a few group policy settings but they dont seem to be applying on the machine in question, or some settings I cannot see in the GPME. 1. Updating System Policy Templates
Hi all, I am going to be in the process of updating my custom system policy templates (probably within a month or two) and I am asking for what policies anyone is in need of to help them deploy samba as a domain controller. Currently I basically have a single template.adm file, a few people have asked me to separate them into a few different files that would serve an overall single purpose - I
