Ubuntu 18:04 not getting 'home' directory from DC
Hello,
I've been trying to get Ubuntu 18.04 to work with Samba AD, seems I am
almost there but am unable to get home directories to mount properly.
The domain join went without a problem but because the default cifs ver
changed in Ubuntu to get other Samba shares on a samba file server to
mount I had to add to it's smb.conf:
client min protocol = SMB2
client min protocol = SMB3
So

Ubuntu 18:04 not getting 'home' directory from DC
Rowland,
How would I find this info?
Check if 'Rachel Jones' has a 'gecos' attribute in AD.
You seem to be being denied access to '.Xauthority', was it created on
another machine ? No
However, I am sure '-13' usually means incorrect password.
I am sure the password is correct, the /mnt/home/rachel folder is created
but the user files are not created because

Kernel bug on mismatching generation_v2 in inode.c:835
Dear list members,
In my previous thread at
http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-btrfs@vger.kernel.org/msg23333.html
there was a space_cache kernel bug/panic on kernel 3.8. I could
successfully "fix" that with rebuilding the cache. But some files were
missing/corrupted. So I booted a rescue CD with kernel 3.7 and ran
btrfsck --repair, which repaired quite a few things.
After a reboot I

security mask for extended ACL permissions / change of create mode for Samba
Dear All,
I manage a Debian Squeeze GNU/Linux (with kernel 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP)
with Samba 3.5.6 (samba 2:3.5.6~dfsg-3squeeze8 package is installed).
I have a "test" directory with native Linux ACL permissions. getfacl
test's output:

# group: grp
# flags: -s-
user::rwx
group::rwx
group:read:r-x

Fwd: Re: Ubuntu 18:04 not getting 'home' directory from DC
Sorry for the delayed response,
Louis,
I'm not sure how to tell about having "cifs/UPN" - Please advise.
I was able to mount with sec=krb5 after the user is logged in but that does not help getting "home" mounted during the login.
But here is where I am now:
I have been able to pam_mount "home" during the login but could not get the ACLs during the mount

MASQUERADE problem again...
Dear list members,
Masquerading does''not work for me. This is a Mandrake Linux 10 system,
but I use another kernel, that included in the original distribution
(original: 2.6.3, now used 2.6.8 because of a lot of suck with OpenSwan
with kernels prior 2.6.4).
The problem seems to be similar or identical mentioned here:

how to do piecewise linear regression in R?
Dear all,
I want to do piecewise CAPM linear regression in R:
RRiskArb−Rf = (1−δ)[αMktLow+βMktLow(RMkt−Rf)] + δ[αMkt High +βMkt High(RMkt −Rf )]
where δ is a dummy variable if the excess return on the value-weighted CRSP index is above a threshold level and zero otherwise. and at the same time add the restriction:
αMkt Low + βMkt Low · Threshold = αMkt High + βMkt High · Threshold
to ensure

Kernel BUG on corrupted space cache under 3.7 and 3.8
Dear list members,
Yesterday I was about to restart my computer and that''s why I closed every

web browsers etc. It involved a lot of IO operations and before everything
could settle down my system became unresponsive.
I mean X & co. worked fine, but anything related to IO (opening a new screen, a

[LLVMdev] How to check Apple's LLVM build number?
Happy New Year to everyone!
I'm trying to track whether this bug: http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project?revision=163923&view=revision has been fixed in the Apple LLVM version we use:
Apple LLVM version 4.2 (clang-425.0.28) (based on LLVM 3.2svn)
Any ideas how I can check that?
Thanks,

Kernel bug at extent-tree.c:5446
Dear list members,
When I tried to recover my partition from the space cache bug (see
http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-btrfs@vger.kernel.org/msg24360.html
), I issued the command `mount -o clear_cache -t btrfs /dev/sda7
/aaa/aaa`. After 10 minutes the mount command segfaulted. I cloned the
latest btrfs-progs from Josef''s Github account and ran the `btrfsck
--repair` twice on the
