Samba 4.2.7 - winbind very high cpu load
Hi,
we have a winbind issue with Samba (Version 4.2.7-SerNet-RedHat-19.el6)
on one of our servers. After a while (once a day) one of the winbind
daemons causes a very high cpu load (100%). This load remains until we
kill this process.
This server is a member of a AD domain with several trusted domains. I
think this happens because winbind has problems with one of the trusted
domains (ALS2)

Winbind logins failing after upgrade from Samba 3 to Samba 4
Hello,
I have a RHEL 6.5 server that was configured to use Samba 3.6.9-167 to authenticate against a Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory domain. The authentication was working fine, but we needed users to log in to this RHEL box with their AD credentials and then access files stored on a Windows file server CIFS share globally mounted on the RHEL box. As such, we added the "cifsacl"

I have configured kerberos and can get a ticket but when I try to join the

Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Try to ping from client to server with its hostname. Sounds like dns
problem.
ping server
Then try to ping its ip address.
Then try to add server address to host file.

samba4 as domain ad member
Hello,
I didn't make a step forward with my problem or misunderstanding in samba3 in that case "AW: [Samba] CentOS Samba as Domain Member", so I decided to try it with samba4.
Here I ran into another problem with winbind and it's called: NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER_MIX.
This is my configuration and relevant logs.

samba 3.6.4 smbd dies on solaris 10 sparc64
Hi list,
Disclaimer: not a subscriber, not a samba expert, just trying to get samba
running on a Solaris 10 system.
We build samba 3.6.4 from source for various platforms. We link against our
own builds of cyrus-sasl 2.1.23, openldap 2.4.23, and openssl 1.0.0h. On
Solaris we also compile against krb5-1.10.1. Builds are done with GNU tools
whenever possible (gcc/ld/make).

winbind errors for trusted domain (of a one-way trust)
Hi,
Our AD domain "A.COM" has a one-way trust with "B.COM" with B.COM being
the trusted domain.
We have a samba server that is joined to A.COM on which users of B.COM
need access. We have samba and winbind configured and it seems to be
working correctly except for the following message that keeps on
appearing in the log.wb-B logfile:

Hi all
I'm desperate now.
On one of the sites I cannot connect Ubuntu to Windows AD 2003.
Error below.
On exactly the same setup but on a different network and also on VirtualBox
VMs everything works as expected.
Looks like something on the network then or mission parameter.
Error is about KDC but I can successfully do kinit and get ticket.
I can also successfully run:

Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Hello,
I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but

net join, client tls bug?
QUESTION: Does samba have client side TLS capabilities?
BACKGROUND
Samba ADS compliant distributions tried:
RHEL samba 3.0.10
Blastware samba 3.0.22 (for Solaris 8 and above)
Solaris 9 compilations 3.0.24, 25b, 25c, 26a
My ADS is running in native 2003 mode. The only access I have
to it is to set up Machine accounts.

ADS Authentication - CLDAP request failed
I have a RHEL 5 system, with Samba 3.0.33 installed, that _used_ to
authenticate against the corporate Active Directory system without any
problems. However, about a month ago the connection broke, but the users
didn't complain until some time went buy. I've spent quite a few hours
trying to reconnect this system, but nothing works. I do not believe it is
a simple configuration problem,
