[OT?] Group Policy, drive maps and Cliend Site Caching...
Hai marco, I've looked for a good example. http://www.mustbegeek.com/how-to-map-network-drive-using-group-policy/ Only, i say use \\FQDN\share not \\HOSTNAME\share Basicly, the above site says, ( the importent part ) Note that drive maps actions are all based on the drive letter. Action ?Create? and ?Update? will not work if the drive letter already in use. In this case, the action

Currently (samba 4 NT-like domains) i use extensively NTLM auth in freeradius and more mildly in squid, respectively with: Freeradius (mschap module): ntlm_auth = "/usr/bin/ntlm_auth --request-nt-key --domain=SANVITO --username=%{mschap:User-Name:-None} --challenge=%{mschap:Challenge:-00} --nt-response=%{mschap:NT-Response:-00}" squid3: auth_param ntlm program /usr/bin/ntlm_auth

Guest access to a foreign NT domain fail...
I'm migrating from a (set of) NT domain, say SANVITO, to an AD domain, say LNFFVG. Both domain live in the same network, so there's no firewall/routing/... in the middle. In SANVITO domain, there's a share (say \\MEDIA\Software) with public access enabled. In SANVITO domain, public access works as expected. The same share are accessible with login (and password; so, non

Query for DC in the same site...
In my scripts i'm using that query to catch DC: host -t SRV _kerberos._udp.ad.fvg.lnf.it | awk '{print $NF}'| sed 's/.$//' and works, but now that the domain get more complex, i want to limit server lookups to the DC in the same site. Googling around lead me to: https://patternbuffer.wordpress.com/2007/12/13/finding-your-active-directory-site-and-domain-controllers/ and

[Curiosity] 'netbios aliases' works in AD mode?
Ahem no one reply me. A little fast-rewind: i need to have some 'aliases' to my servers (DM); seems i need to add in smb.conf: netbios aliases = FILESV but also add a 'SPN'; trying to look around for an examples, lead me to ''nothing'', or to examples that seems to me unrelated. Supposing the domain is 'ad.fvg.lnf.it' and the FQDN of the real host is

For loop help
Hi Everyone, I could use help developing a for loop. I have a dataset with tallies for a number of species within 7 different size classes. I need to uncollate the data into the rawest form (ie: each row a different individual) & retrain the metadata associated with each row (Date, Recorder, Site, Transect and Species). Here is an example of the current format:

csc policy
Hello you all, we are in the process of upgrading to windows 10 on all our workstations. We see one problem with redirected folders. We redirect Appdata to a network share. Vista roaming profiles...
Hi everybody, after many weeks of searching/trying, I still can't manage to get vista to use/save roaming profiles with samba as PDC... It has apparently worked a few times in the beginning since the profiles directories are populated. Could it be related to a Vista update or SP1? Here's what I did so far: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]

Memory leak in 3.0.22?
Hi, I have just switched from FreeBSD 4.11 using 3.0.21b to NetBSD 3.0.1 using 3.0.22. With the same configuration, and the same clients, I am now seeing what appears to be some rather large memory leakage [ I am not sure if this is the fault of Samba or NetBSD ]. Eventually the process will run out of memory (machine only has 256MB of RAM) and the Windows clients (2000, SP4 and all the

Changing default library
Hallo R experts, I got a question concerning the .libPaths(). if I do the command .libPaths() than the result is /usr/lib/R/library. This is the default folder. I now want to change this one into /home/csc/usr/lib/R/library. I thought it would work with the command .libPaths("/home/csc/usr/lib/R/library"). When I than do the command .libPaths() the result is:
