Share authentication problem
Hi Rowland, Thank you very much for your help! The main problem was fixed today - and i have to apologize for bothering sambalist because it was an error40 (40cm in front of the PC). In my test enviroment, there was still an old, non-existing SID on the domdata share, however - after deleting the access permissions in Windows and adding new, everything goes fine now. Unable to join samba4 to AD as a DC

I have a freshly installed AD environment (W2012R2 servers, W2008R2 functional level) and I'm trying to join samba4 to it as a domain controller. When I try, I get this: # samba-tool domain join ad.netdirect.ca DC -Uadministrator --realm=AD.NETDIRECT.CA -W AD Finding a writeable DC for domain

Clustered Samba Printing
Hi Folks, I'm part of a Novell department that is working on moving from Novell NDPS printing to Samba printing. I have been told that the Samba environment will have to be clustered to assure the same level of redundancy for printing. Does anyone have any pointers? Whether actual experience in this or a location of good documentation of the clustering process? Thanks for

Samba & Terminal Services / Citrix
Hello! I have heard that there is a problem with using Samba along with Windows Terminal Services and that it's related to session IDs with multiple users coming from one server. I'm in the process of moving to Windows Server 2003 using Citrix and hoping to be able to revive our samba use. Has anyone had any success with using samba in a Terminal Server / Citrix environment? Thanks

Designate one samba server for home directories
Hello all, I have a few samba servers running winbind that are joined to the AD 2003 domain. Is it possible to designate one samba server to host the users' home directories instead of each one of them? If we have samba1, samba2, and samba3 and designate samba1 to host the home directories and when a user accesses samba 2 either via ssh or as a share, the home directory that the user sees

However, the two machines have separate disks for their OS installations. The two physical servers have two gigabit nics each and on those nics I place four virtual IP addresses which heartbeat makes sure is

My friends: My samba file server have been working well for a year up to yesterday, when It stopped suddently. It was on a debian vz container (Proxmox 3.4).
