PDC -> BDC Question
Hi Everyone, I was wondering I am setting up a BDC at another physically separate location on a different subnet, and I am currently working on what files I need to have copied between the computers and which need to be made on each server. The specific question I am dealing with is what TDB files I need to replicate filesystems between the two servers. Below is a list of what the files I

WG: PDC -> BDC Question
Hello Nick, I do not think it is possible to just copy files like this from one to the other samba. You can do the copy job with rsync or scp. I made a samba PDC and BDC with ldap master ldap slave. So on both servers are the same users Groups etc. Both machines must have the same SID Greetings Daniel -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: samba-bounces+mueller=tropenklinik.de@lists.samba.org

Import idmap database error on classicupgrade process
I copied all the database files of samba3 as is mentioned in the wiki - The classicupgrade process <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_Classic_Upgrade_(NT4-style_domain_to_AD)#The_classicupgrade_process> But if the winbindd_idmap.tdb file is in the folder, the errors occur. Samba 4 DC backups
I have a few Samba 4.2 DC in production now and figured that I should do something about backups. I have read https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Backup_and_restore_an_Samba_AD_DC and had a look through the samba_backup script and have a few questions. Firstly I am using the Sernet packages on Centos7. I am assuming the following mappings from the script for my set up /usr/local/samba/etc is

Import idmap database error on classicupgrade process
You're right, man! Sorry! My mistake! I put that file because I read in somewhere about the persistent and temporary files regarding .tdb files. The winbindd_idamp.tbm was on that list, and I think that's why I left it in the folder. :D Another doubt. For the provisioning starts, I had to comment out the line referring to the ldap backend in the smb.conf of samba3. # passdb backend =

TDB functionality document
Hi, Does someone know a document which explains the TDB structure. functionalites, and format of the TDB files etc. I need to understand why some of the TDBs like messages.tdb, unexpected.tdb, brlock if not read_only, locking.tdb, session.tdb, wins.tdb are called with TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST tdb flags. Why some TDBs are opend with O_RDWR|O_CREAT flags viz. gencache.tdb, group_mapping.tdb,

tdb_mmap problem with Samba 3.07 on Solaris 5.9
I just compiled Samba 3.07 on a Solaris 5.9 machine. Samba is configured to be a PDC (with a smb.conf running well on another System) And now when starting the smbd I'm getting many failure notices like the following: tdb(/usr/local/samba/var/locks/sessionid.tdb): tdb_mmap failed for size 696 (Resource temporarily unavailable) tdb(/usr/local/samba/var/locks/connections.tdb): tdb_mmap failed
