Daylight saving
Hello there,
I have a samba PDC 3.0.0 running ok, but I had turned on the option "Time
Server" in smb.conf, to synchronize the workstations time with server. But
the workstations synchronize 1 hour less than it is. I think that the
workstations isn?t considering the daylight saving time.
I?m using the command: net time \\server /set /yes
Thank?s,

Standalone with Windows ACL
I'm configuring a standalone server(server role = standalone server) using
POSIX ACLs to manage permissions on server.
I need to manage permissions(At least basic ones, like read, write) from
Windows GUI.
Is that possible using standalone?
When I try setting permissions on Windows I got this on the log:
[2017/10/04 19:07:08.437837, 2]
../source3/smbd/posix_acls.c:3006(set_canon_ace_list)

Shadow Copy2 & zfs Snapshots
Hi there
I'm having some troubles with Shadow Copy2 & zfs Snapshots. I have
hourly and daily snapshots. If I use the following settings it works
(but omits daily snapshots):
vfs objects = shadow_copy2
shadow:snapdir = .zfs/snapshot
shadow:sort = desc
shadow:localtime = yes
shadow:format = easysnap-hourly_%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-UTC
However when I try to use the BRE with the prefix,

Sama + Windows Shadow Copies
Hello,
i installed zfs-auto-snapshot with Samba/Windows Shadow Copy. If the
share contains "path = /srv/userdata/" it runs for me. But if I use
"path = /srv/userdata/%U" I get no "Previous Versions" on my Win10 Client.
I think the problem is the variable "shadow: snapdir = .zfs/snapshot". I
tried with "shadow: snapdir = ../.zfs/snapshot" and

Fix for CVE-2015-5299 denies access to ZFS snapshots due to overly strict condition checking
OS platform: FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p25
Filesystem: ZFS
Samba version: upgraded from 4.1.17 to 4.1.22
Problem:
I have been using the shadow_copy2 and zfsacl VFS modules to enable
access control and the Previous Versions feature for Windows clients.
With /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf configured this way (excerpt):
vfs objects = shadow_copy2 zfsacl
shadow:snapdir = .zfs/snapshot

vfs_shadow_copy2 not working
Hi Jeremy,
Here's the log with log level 10: https://pastebin.com/0EAuz2B8
The location of the shared folder: /pool/shadowtest
The location of the snapshots: /pool/shadowtest/.zfs/snapshot
Here are how snapshots are named:

autosnap_2019-09-01_13:29:01_hourly
autosnap_2019-09-01_13:44:09_frequently
And this is currently in my smb.conf file:

VFS shadowcopy2 with FeeBSD & ZFS
Hi,
I have a FreeBSD 12.1 system with Samba 4.11.8 using ZFS and I want to get shadow copies working, however the clients (Windows 10) don't show anything in the 'previous versions' tab. I think it's doing something as it say 'working' for a short amount of time. Also if I crank up vfs debugging to 10 I get:
[2020/10/05 16:50:03.879093, 10, pid=50572, effective(0, 0),

Duplicate nobody pid entries from smbstatus
Hi
We've recently had a few windows 10 machines active on the network and are experiencing a strange issue in the output of smbstatus.
By the end of the day a windows 10 machine may be listed dozens of times in the PID listing, with the expected user once but then dozens of nobody:nobody entries also associated with the same machine / PID.
eg: a trimmed view..

vfs_shadow_copy2 not working
So I'm trying to get shadow copies to work with Windows clients. The snapshots are being stored at /test/.zfs/snapshot
The snapshots are being named like so:
autosnap_2019-08-10_21:00:00_frequently
autosnap_2019-08-10_21:00:00_monthly
autosnap_2019-08-10_22:00:00_hourly
This is in my smb.conf:
[test]
vfs objects = shadow_copy2
shadow:snapdir = /test/.zfs/snapshot

Fix sharing ACL
Gentlemen,
I am struggling to solve this problem.
My file server Samba 4.4.5.
Even the administrator user (domain admin) could not write to the share.
Could someone give me a hint, in order to solve this problem?

Folder permissions:

vfs_shadow_copy2 with different snapshot format
Hi all,
Does anyone have vfs_shadow_copy2 working with an alternate snapshot
directory format? My snapshots look like this :

"No previous versions" - GPFS 3.5 and shadow_copy2
Hi all,
At some point recently my customers can no longer see GPFS snapshots under the Windows Previous Versions tab. It simply says "No previous versions available". If a fileset is exported with the flag "force user = root" then Previous Versions *are* displayed.

ACLs on a directory on GPFS
Hello,
I am using the vfs_gpfs samba module to map ACLs through samba. It works
fine on files, but directory ACLs are ignored. Ex:
getfacl /sb/share/myplace/
file: sb/share/myplace/
owner: root
group: root
user::rwx
user:afrankel:rwx
group::---
mask::rwx
other::---
When I try to access this folder in Windows, I get permission denied.
The same permissions on a files, I can open it / modify it

Can one set the owner of a folder to BUILTIN\Administrators?
I've recently attempted to migrate some windows server files over to
samba 4 hosted on a FreeNAS server.
Using robocopy with the /copyall switch, I expected everything,
including ACL's and ownership information to transfer over. For the
most part they have. The one problem I've ran into however, is that I'm
getting errors any time I or robocopy attempt to change the ownership to

Some issues for Samba 4.10.7 on ZFS 0.8.1
Hi all,
I got some samba issues on ZFS 0.8.1 below, but i have no idea these issues
are belong to samba or ZFS.
Q1. When i used Mac OS X 10.12.6 to mount smb (samba version 4.10.7) share
folder and upload a folder which has few files then i got an unexpected
error (error code -50).
Q2. When using the file which has ntfs data streams :Zone.Identifier:$DATA
