Migration from 3.6.25-0ubuntu0.12.04.10 to 4.x with passdb backend = ldapsam
Thank you for a tip. I want to setup a `STANDALONE` server relying on an external OpenLDAP for authentication. Is it possible on samba 4.x - ? 2018-02-21 15:49 GMT+03:00 Rowland Penny via samba <samba at lists.samba.org>: > On Wed, 21 Feb 2018 15:26:26 +0300 > Vladimir Skubriev <skubriev at cvisionlab.com> wrote: > > > You a sure. Using nslcd related to more newer versions on samba ? Or it is a one of use cases how to setup authentication in samba through openldap? Is it possible to use sssd instead of nslcd ? I already use sssd on machines to enumerate passwd, groups and done with authentication. I tried to found any useful data on the net in case of : samba4 standalone openldap. But unfortunately does not found any

You a sure. I have already configured openldap, which is workd as expected with old smb server. net getlocalsid & net getdomainsid returns the same SID. LDAP sambaDomainName=EXAMPLE has the same SID in attribute sambaSID. Also DIT has windows groups like Domain Users' etc ... Unfortunately I can not find the reason for the unexpected exit of child smbd process. Do your mean that I must

Samba 4.7 and Editposix/Trusted Ldapsam extension support.
Something like this. But this link has no info that I need. On the roadmap: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Roadmap There is information <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/LDAP_Backend#.28De.29motivation> about general purpose LDAP server as the backend (e.g. openLDAP). But that's not what i was looking for. I looking for status of `passdb backend = ldapsam` feature. This

RBD volume not made available to Xen virtual guest on openSUSE 15.2 (with libvirt 6.0.0)
Hi there, Since upgrading to openSUSE 15.2 (which includes libvirt 6.0.0) the virtual guests don't get their RBD disks made available to them. On openSUSE 15.1 (which includes libvirt 5.1.0) that worked fine. The XML is as follows: <domain type='xen' id='7'>   <name>mytwotel-a</name>   <uuid>a56daa5d-c095-49d5-ae1b-00b38353614e</uuid>

It's QEMU 4.2.1-lp152.9.6.1. I've tried updating it from the Open Build Service repos but there's too many version conflicts. Having problem getting Asterisk to work on CentOS 7
Some background information. I have used Debian with Asterisk for several years. Have encountered zero problems. I am now trying to setup an Asterisk on a CentOS7 box using VMWare Workstation. I am brand new to CentOS and RHEL so I may be missing something obvious. I am installing CentOS Minimal Install and Asterisk from Source. (I have installed Asterisk from Source on Debian hundreds of

Retry interval for attempting to set up a tunnel
Hi, We set up tinc tunnels over 3G when the connection becomes available. It is a mobile environment so connections come and go frequently. We send tinc an ALRM signal to retry a connection, but somehow this fails once in a while. Is there a way to influence the retry interval for connections that are down and the interval increment? We would like to be able to set this to 1 minute after ALRM.
