[OT?] Winexe and recent samba...
Michael Stowe did some work to "fix" things with 4.5, I think (that were merged into the repo you're using) -- you might want to contact him? https://github.com/mwstowe/stowe-verlay/tree/master/net-fs/winexe Other than that, relatively recent (September 2017) RPMs for CentOS can be found here, though I haven't used these yet: http://repo.firewall- services.com/centos/ Kris Lou

Seems that the trouble came from headers like 'smb_cli.h' and 'smb_cliraw.h'. That headers are present on standard squeeze samba

Winexe, samba 4.8, sigsev...
I'm using 'winexe': https://sourceforge.net/projects/winexe/ but this repository, compiled against samba 4.5, and works like a charm: https://sourceforge.net/u/mstowe/winexe/ci/master/tree/ I've tried to recompile them against samba 4.8 (louis repo), and compile flawlessy, but if i try to run them: winexe[10549]: segfault at 138 ip 00007fb165a2f3a4 sp 00007ffdf432a880 error

replacement for winexe?
Hi there We're starting to play around with Win10 and I've noticed winexe doesn't seems to work against it - generates a NT_STATUS_BAD_INITIAL_PC error when connecting Looking around it seems like winexe really isn't maintained anymore? - which may be the reason it doesn't support Win10 as currently you can't even compile it against a current version of Samba4 (which

timeout vs. winexe
I use the winexe (a samba-based tool like psexec) to run a command remotely on windows targets. The problem is, sometimes it hangs until interrupted and I'd like to put it in a cron job. So I added a 'timeout 80' on the command line that starts a shell script that invokes winexe with the needed parameters. This does prevent the hang, but now every run takes the full 80 seconds to

set_table_name and self.table_name
I have some legacy tables that I used set_table_name on, I''m attempting to write a method that will get key value from a sequence table and then update it and return a value. I''m hoping to put this in the base ActiveRecord method so I would like to reference the table name with self.table_name or something... class Contacts < ActiveRecord::Base set_table_name

Turning off Win2008 machines from a CentOS box
I understand this may be able to be done with Samba? Anyone know the syntax for a CentOS 5.1 Samba client and what needs to be done to Windows 2008 Server to allow this (I suspect out of the box it wouldn't allow it)? I was hoping to use SSH with keys and script the login and execution of the native win shutdown command, but I have had troubles making any of the usual win SSH Daemons work
