smbcontrol reload & close-share not working like previous version
Hello.
I just upgrade my kernel, smbd and changed my smb.conf. (4.14.12-1-Arch" to
"4.14.19-1-lts") "samba 4.7.4-1"
But now, "reload smbd" and "close-share" can not drop connected users to
share. Because of that I have to restart smbd service for destroy a share

But it was working previous version and I don't know what is wrong right

RID solved my problem. But while reading docs I saw new things and I
changed my smb.conf completely.
I have read almost every parameter but i'm still not %100 sure.
Can you do me a last favor?
Please can you tell me do I have any problem with new smb.conf?
Kernel: Linux 4.14.13-1-ARCH
Filesystem: zfs-linux 0.7.5.4.14.13.1-1
Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you for reply Rowland.
Sorry for my typo. I intended to change sm--to-->test but i forget to
change other lines.
So my original config is below:
workgroup = sm
> realm = sm.pvt
> server string = %h Test Host
> security = ads
> encrypt passwords = yes
> idmap config sm.pvt : backend = ad

Sure there is,
Install debian, follow my howto and you will have success.
Just, your using an .local domain, and thats a reserved name for apples mDNS (zeroconf)
And should not be used. ( same for .lan )
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/FAQ#Can_I_Use_the_.local_Top-level_Domain_for_My_AD_DNS_Zone.3F
So the info is good, thats not the problem, finding it, is.
Can you post your /etc/hosts

Problem with rsync recent file logic ?
Hello,
I have 2 servers I'm synchronizing using rsync, I have a situation where I :
1. rsync from rnd-dev2 to rnd-dev1
2. change the rsynched file on rnd-dev1
3. rsync from rnd-dev2 to rnd-dev1 again
4. File gets overridden on rnd-dev1 over though it has newer change
time then file on rnd-dev2.
here is the bug(?) reproduction:
[root@rnd-dev1 test_rsync]# rsync --version
rsync version

Hi Louis,
Thanks for information, find it sometimes is a real challenge. Would you
please share your how to link? I wish to read it.
For the .local domain I suppose I have nothing to do. This is a running
windows Active Directory and it is not possible to change domain suffix.
Here is my /etc/hosts

10.254.104.8 wdc04.aa.local wdc04

Problem with NLSstClosestX; and suggested fix
Problem is demonstrated with this code, intended to find the approximate 'x'

[PATCH linux-2.6.18-xen] make netloop permanent
Hi,
with reference to RH BZ#567540 [0], this patch makes the netloop module permanent (like netback is currently). It reverts parts of xen-unstable c/s 9019:271cb04a4f2b [1] [2] (though that has a typo: "__init clean_loopback", so it was probably changed later too).
The patch fixes the problem of "rmmod netloop" hanging, resulting in blocked tasks and inability to shut down

I see "everyone permission" at windows security even i didn't add.
I created a share with the config I gave below. As you can see in pictures
I have two Everyone at "Permission" and one Everyone at "Share" section.
These permissions comes when i create a share.. One of them is definitely
related to samba because it is in the "share" section, but I guess the
other two permits are comes with "posix acl".
But i did not add

newlines with write-append
Silly bash scripts have stuff like below to get things done, but equally
silly guestfish scripts fail to add the required newline. Why is that?
echo "$dev1 $mnt1 $fs $opts 1 2" >> /etc/fstab
echo "$dev2 $mnt2 $fs $opts 1 2" >> /etc/fstab
write-append /etc/fstab "$dev1 $mnt1 $fs $opts 1 2" : \
write-append /etc/fstab "$dev2 $mnt2 $fs $opts 1 2"

Nested loop and output help
Hello Everyone,
My name is Thomas and I have been using R for one week. I recently found
your site and have been able to search the archives of posts. This has
given me some great information that has allowed me to craft an initial
design to an inquiry I would like to make into the breakdown of McNemar's
test. I have read an intro to R manual and the posting guides and hope I am
not violating

pridump
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what are the <dev1> <dev2> parameters that I should
use to run pridump? I took a look at the source code but couldn't figure
this one out.

Different primary group between 4.5.x and 4.6.x
Below I post the scenario where user can lost access to the file with
winbindd 4.6.x (DEV2+dev2user1000 has default group other then "domain
users"):

I have upgraded Samba in my environment from 4.5.10 to 4.6.3 and
experienced issue with primary group for domain guest user:
With Samba 4.5.10 primary group for DEV2+guest was "DEV2+domain guests":

uid=66037(DEV2+guest) gid=66050(DEV2+domain guests)
groups=66050(DEV2+domain guests)
With Samba 4.6.3 primary group for DEV2+guest is "DEV2+domain
