apt-cacher for CentOS
Hi All, Is there something similar to apt-cacher available for CentOS? I would like to ensure that an application is only downloaded once to the network and not hundreds of times. If there isn't an equivalent, would someone please point me in the direction of how I might accomplish this with CentOS? -- James A. Something like apt-cacher for CentOS/RHEL?
Hi, For some time I've fiddled with Debian and Ubuntu LTS. There's one really nice feature for local networks: apt-cacher, a package proxy for APT. My company is in the remote South French countryside, and more often than not, schools and public libraries only have some very limited Internet access with relatively low bandwidth, which can make the updating process very tedious. something like apt-cacher for yum
Hello! I need to download updates and install it on several servers. I don't want to mirror all packages just because traffic is expensive here. We use apt-cacher as specialized proxy for our ubuntu desktops, so we download packages only once. Is there similar tool for yum?

Persistent Winbind gid cache
Hello Samba team ! I'm network administrator in a french high school where I store my user/group ID using rfc2307. My client stations use Winbind to query rfc2307 attributes. Each new years, as all my students move to another class, almost all my user's gid are updated in AD. This gid is very important in my network because pam_mount mount only the share corresponding the to user's

Issue with Asterisk 13, multiple CDR per queue and arbitrary upper limit
Hi, I`ve recently upgraded a server from 1.8 to Asterisk 13. While everything is under control, I have one issue with the way CDRs are kept for queues. And I don`t mean ?I don`t like it?. I mean it crashes the server. I realize there are multiple CDRs per queue call ? one per ring/per phone, basically. The issue is that whenever the number of CDRs ?to be recorded? for a call exceeds 5000,

Puppet hangs
Hello, we have one puppet server managing approx servers, all FreeBSD. The problem is that the puppet clients all hangs, one by one, eventually. They will run for anything between an hour up to a week. But eventually the all hang. We really like puppet and want to keep using it. But the way it is now is completely unusable. We''ve tried many versions, from 24.x, and now 2.6.1rc1. But

cacher v0.1-2
The 'cacher' package contains a set of routines for caching statistical analyses. The idea is that an analysis stored in a file (say, 'foo.R') is run and the results of the evaluated expressions are cached in a database. These cached results can subsequently be packaged up and distributed over the interweb. I've just uploaded to CRAN version 0.1-2 of the 'cacher'

pre-built images
Tru has already been building vmware images ( http://people.centos.org/tru/vmware/ ) for various roles. I was wondering if there was any interest in prebuilt Xen images as well ? And if so, what would be the roles people would want images done for, and what might be suiteable package sets to include for those roles. -- Karanbir Singh : http://www.karan.org/ : 2522219 at icq

Microsoft CRM 4.0 integration with asterisk
Hello ! I am wondering if anyone has experiences with the integration of Asterisk 1.4.19 into Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 ? Or alternatively integration with Microsoft Office Communications server (however trying to avoid this, if it isn't really necessary for the integration). I would be glad to receive any links or manuals on this topic, which helped you to integrate it. Kind regards, Jan
