Error trying to join samba 4.3.4 to a DC...
Hi:
I'm trying to join a samba 4.3.4 (as an additional domain controller) to
a domain with Zentyal 4.3 (That has samba 4.3.4 inside). I know that
this is an old samba version but I cann't upgrade zentyal first. So,
When I can join the samba 4.3.4 to the domain I will demote the Zentyal.
But when I try:
samba-tool domain join dtcf.etecsa.cu DC -U "DTCF\administrator"

Is it normal printer objects in the samba db?
I have about 400 users and 400 computers. But my samba db has about
40000 objects. I think it is so much.
I have watched a lot of printer objects associated with the computer
name on which they are attached.
Is it normal ? Can I delete all of these printer objects ?
Look at this:
ldbsearch -H
/usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb.d/DC\=DTCF\,DC\=ETECSA\,DC\=CU.ldb
'cn=*Laser*' dn

I can't join to an existing domain (yet)
People:
I have not solved my problem. I have only one DC with Zentyal 3.4 and I
want to change it by samba 4.1.16. That's why if I can't join the samba
to the existing domain I would not do anything else.
The samba server error is this:
(Command from samba)
samba-tool domain join dtcf.etecsa.cu DC -U administrator
--realm=DTCF.ETECSA.CU --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ
(Response)

--realm=dtcf.etecsa.cu --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ
But it returns:

Samba Version 4.1.9-Zentyal (Zentyal4.0) is using a lot of RAM memory to crash
I have been using two Zentyal 4.0 domain controllers for a long time.
3Gb of RAM each one and working okay. I have not updated them from
Internet and my users are the same. Suddently, the first DC began to
comsume memory to the top.
I detected that samba processes are the responseble of this behavior.
More processes with more memory come on. They get more and more memory
in such a way that the

I can not use a domain group in the DC filesystem
I have just installed a samba 4.7.4 from source. All right!
wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g return the list of users and groups from the domain
But I can not use they in the DC filesystem.
For instance:
# touch ttt
# chgrp 'domain admins' ttt
chgrp: invalid group: ‘domain admins’
That should I do to ?

Issue with Samba4 and Active Directory 2008R2
We are attempting to connect a RHEL 6.8 server running Samba4/Winbind to
a Windows 2008R2 Active Directory.
We can make the connections, see the server in the "computers" section
of the AD. We have been able to establish valid Kerberos connections
and can establish a trust relationship.
When we run the wbinfo utility we are able to retrieve group
information, information

Issue with LDAPS & Winbind
Denis,
Thank you for the information. I was under the impression that
authentication was done through LDAP. I'm not sure what led me to this
belief/understanding.
How can I confirm that indeed my Linux member server is authenticating with
Kerberos, and that it is encrypted? Is Kerberos traffic always encrypted?
Thanks,
Tim
