samba_dlz Failed to configure reverse zone
And some more information about this strange effect apparently no-one
has seen before.
I now added the missing zone:
samba-tool dns zonecreate verdandi 10.16.172.in-addr.arpa -U Administrator
and it claims that the zone is okay, but the next one is missing:

Changing from Interal DNS to Bind9
Hi,
I am playing arround with a Samba4 at the moment.
I had a running AD with Samba4 and the Internal DNS.
I tried to change the DNS to Bind9.
When i start bind9, i get the following error in the /var/log/syslog
May 25 12:42:54 masnyjg named[1383]: starting BIND
9.9.5-3ubuntu0.2-Ubuntu -u bind

Bind9 AD SDLZ driver failed to load
I installed Bind9 on a new ubuntu 13.04 server using
apt-get install bind9
and am trying to integrate AD into it. Bind starts fine and will resolve my
domain and computer names, but when I add the line
include "/usr/local/samba/private/named.conf"
into /etc/bind/named.conf, Bind9 fails to start. I have edited that file
to ensure the correct line is included for Bind 9.9, and I am not

Winbind not able to start
Hi Rowland,
first and foremost thanks for the answer...on a saturday! Since I wrote I
got it running!
Did a complete purge of packages samba libnss-winbind libpam-winbind
krb5-user krb5-config libpam-krb5 and reinstalled.
Stopped smbd, nmbd and winbind and joined the domain. Started the services
again and winbind could start as well.
Thanks!

Bind9 issue
Rowland,
To answer you first, my "example.com" registered host is a wildcat " *.
example.com". Everything example.com returns my external ip address.
Both bind9 and samba are running.
Might add your "options" but for now, solving my problem, first.
Louis, your answer in a few minutes.

BIND9_DLZ: TKEY is unacceptable - depending on the name server
Dear Samba experts,
Since a couple of days I am trying to fix my domain.
I have each two ADDCs on raspis on two sites. One is running on Raspian and works fine. The other three are on Gentoo and something is broken there.
When I point the name resolution in resolv.conf to the Raspian machine the dynamic updates are just working fine:

samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names fails with kinit RuntimeError
Hi everyone,
unfortunately, I managed to break my Samba AD DC configuration :-( and
would like to ask the experts on this list.
When restarting my Samba AC DC I noticed, that it didn't come up
properly. samba outputs the following lines to /var/log/syslog
