Linux Client problem with dhcp and the Samba 4 domain
Yes, I set up a Samba4 AD with bind9 and isc-dhcp-server for dynamic DNS-updates and works well. The problem is with the Linux Client and the domain when the IP addrees change (Linux Clients are in the domain). Is possible that the Client are registers with one IP address in the domain and when the IP address change beginning the problem. Siovel. ----- Original Message ----- From:

bind9 and isc-dhcp-Server for dynamic DNS-updates Error
Hello Rolawnd, I followed the wikipage exactly. Bind9 is installed on the Samba DC. The Linux-Client should be a member of the Active Directory-domain? bind9 and isc-dhcp-Server for dynamic DNS-updates Error
Hi Rowland, I resolve the problem partially. The problem was due to the fact that I do not have winbind installed because Samba 4, Bind9 and isc-dhcp-server are on the same server. I commented on these lines in the script dhcp-dyndns.sh and it worked (on commit and on release but not on expiry ) #TESTUSER=$(wbinfo -u | grep dhcpduser) #if [ -z "${TESTUSER}" ]; then # echo "No

bind9 and isc-dhcp-Server for dynamic DNS-updates Error
Hi Rowland, I have not another dhcp server. dnsmasq is not configured. I think the problem may be permissions. Which distribution linux do you use, Ubuntu? I was tracing the script code dhcp-dyndns.sh, when the execution on the first line fails Is correct this instructions in Debian: chown root:root /etc/dhcp/dhcpduser.keytab chmod 400 /etc/dhcp/dhcpduser.keytab ----- Mensaje original

Using isc-dhcp for DDNS with Samba4 internal DNS
Hello, Is it possible to use isc-dhcp for DDNS with Samba internal DNS? I would rather not use bind as I understand you can't use Windows DNS tool to manage. Thanks. -- -James

Separate ISC-DHCP server updating BIND DNS
I am attempting to set up a separate ISC-DHCP server to administer IP addresses for a new subnet and dynamically update the main BIND9 DNS server on DC1. I'm using the guide linked below but it appears to be for installing the DHCP server directly on the domain controller. Is there any documentation available for updating BIND9 from a completely separate machine with ISC-DHCP installed? It

Samba4 RC5 BIND9 and DHCP
I'm attempting to get a recent build of S4 rc5 + Bind9 + ISC DHCP server running. I've got everything pretty much set up, have attempted to implement a modified version of the script from here: http://blog.michael.kuron-germany.de/2011/02/isc-dhcpd-dynamic-dns-updates-against-secure-microsoft-dns/ but I keep getting a "TKEY is unacceptable" error. Configure DHCP to update DNS records with BIND9

DHCP, DNS and non-domain members
Hi all, I am preparing a migration from Samba NT-Domain to Samba AD. The migration itself is all fine, but I have a general problem in understanding the network architecture of an active directory domain. Right now (Samba NT style), each client gets its IP address from a DHCP server (isc-dhcp-server). The DHCP server in turn updates the DNS (bind9) via dynamic DNS updates. This way, every client

Samba - Bind9 DNS - ISC-DHCP - obsolete DNS entries
Hi everyone, I have setup a Samba domain with BIND9 dns backend. Using ISC-DHCP-Server and procedure/script described in samba wiki I have configured dynamic dns updates. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9 In my network I am using PXE to deploy new debian machines. Booting a nfsroot and then using chroot to install my new system, for each machine
