classicupgrade, net rpc rights grant NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT and NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR
Dear all,
we are transitioning from an openldap / MIT KDC setup to a samba4 AD. I
am doing this by setting up a samba NT4 domain, populating it from LDAP
and sticking in the password hashes which I automatically extract from
the MIT KDC arc4-hmac keys. Then I run the classicupgrade. I do this
whole thing from cron in a script once a day to be able to slowly
migrate services. The MIT / openldap

CONNECTION_REFUSED
Hello,
I am using Samba 4.0.5 and got this kind of error messages in samba.log
(loglevel 2).
While this happens getent passwd shows no domain users, but everyone could
reach all of the shares.
Any idea what could cause this kind of error messages?

Classic Upgrade: Unable to enumerate group memberships
Hello. I'm using Version 4.0.8-SerNet-Ubuntu-5.precise (Also, a heads up on
this release; the folder /var/run/samba must be created upon reboot. When
starting Samba I get this error:
ERROR: can't open /var/run/samba/samba.pid: Error was No such file or

So anyway, when trying to do a classic upgrade/migration in order to
preserve authentication information on a new domain. After

user / machine / group scripts, some work some don't
Hi List,
I have some issues with user manager for domains (srvtools.exe from MS)
and the scripts mentioned in the subject. The examples from the samba
howto collection seem to cause serious issues here. I am on debian etch
and tried to create my own scripts but till now to now avail. With the
examples from the docs I could add groups, but could not add users to
groups. There was the option -A

Upgrading without knowing whats the problem I feel a bit like with
Windows or lots of comercial software: "The next version will solve all
your problems" and we all know that's never true.

How winbindd is working on DC/member? It ignores rfc2703 on DC, and not showing all users on member server... Where is a error?
Hi all,
Still looking for the best way to achieve consistent GID/UID mapping
on Linux servers/clients, in heterogeneous environment (Linux,
Windows, CIFS, NFS).
Current problems with UID/GID resolution prevents from using Samba4 in
environment with backups (where data may be restored on another
server) and mixed Linux/Windows workstations.
Just recently installed fresh Samba 4.1.0 on the server

Hello,
I cannot access a remote drive using Windows or smbclient; my

`getpwuid` fails. The server (remote) is running CentOS 7.2 and Samba

winbind trust account password management
I'm running Samba v4.4.4 as a domain member server in security=domain
mode. Our 3 domain controllers are Server 2012r2.
Every 3-4 days, I see log messages from winbind saying
"winbind_samlogon_retry_loop: sam_logon returned ACCESS_DENIED".
Sometimes this corresponds to a trust password change, but not always.
Today, new connections to Samba were failing with the error
