Swfdec and Ffmpeg only
Hi,
I'm the founder and still very active developer of Puppy Linux, and a
variant named Quirky. Puppy is a cut-down distro, typically 100MB
live-CD. We have always used the Adobe Flash player, though I have
stayed with the Flash 9 player (9.0.48.0) due to its smaller size.
Puppy also has ffmpeg, xine-lib and gxine.
Recently I have been experimenting with Swfdec and Swfdec-mozilla. I

[PATCH] Fix logic in ffmpeg detection
If neither --enable-ffmpeg nor --disable-ffmpeg was given, try to find
ffmpeg. If it wasn't found, print the warning, but don't fail.
If --enable-ffmpeg was given, fail if ffmpeg is not found. If
--disable-ffmpeg was given, don't print the warning, as the user already
knows that ffmpeg won't be enabled.
It's important that ffmpeg is not viewed as a hard requirement, as

Hi all,
I got swfdec compiled and running, however there are a lot of problems
running it !
As a test I tried:
swfplay http://www.youtube.com/v/lUR6laFLk0A

Proposal: swfdec-gnome
Hi,
I'd like to propose swfdec-gnome for inclusion into the GNOME 2.22
desktop. Swfdec-gnome is a recent addition to the Swfdec project [1].
Its purpose is integration of Flash files into the Gnome desktop. It
currently provides a thumbnailer and a playback application for local
files similar to the stand-alone application Adobe ships on Windows.
It is supposed to replace the support that is

swfdec not working - how to troubleshoot?
Hi,
I'm a fedora user and I didn't know about your great project (shame on
me). Only project I head about before that tried to do that you are
doing is gnash.
I'm testing fedora rawhide (development verision - soon to be Fedora
9). Rawhide currently uses Firefox 3 and swfdec installed by default -
that is how I got to know about your project.
Current version in rawhide is

swfdec and clutter
hi,
i started an experimental clutter-swf renderer project http://www.students.itu.edu.tr/~gumusuy/clutter-swf-0.1.0.tar.bz2
using swfdec-0.6
In fact this project is a part of bigger clutter media project.
For less dependency i configured swfdec by ./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-maintainer-mode --disable-gtk --disable-mad --disable-ffmpeg --disable-gstreamer --disable-vivified

ffmpeg
Hi,
this mail is mostly geared towards package builders. I've just updated
the ffmpeg build to the more recent API and added support for VP6.
So if you're building packages for 0.4.5 it might make sense to use current git.
Or if you don't use git, apply the following two patches:

Quicktime 2 Theora Transcoder's Nano-Howto
After a bunch of cumbersome testing I was able to transcode a Quicktime
MOV file to OGG with theora and Vorbis. The method's a bit fumbly, but
it works... It is automatable except for the initial audio decoding.
Software used: Xine, oggenc, ffmpeg, ffmpeg2theora, oggzmerge
Step 1: Get the video out of Quicktime
ffmpeg -i infile.mov -b 5000 -f mpeg2video outfile.mpg
Step 2: Get the video

gstreamer error
hi all,
I recently started playing with swfdec and it looks pretty awesome so
far. So, many thanks for your efforts guys!
But when running swfplay on a swf-file containing videos, e.g.
swfdec-flash-and-gnome.swf, the video doesn't play and I get some errors
regarding GStreamer:
<snip>
SWFDEC: ERROR: swfdec_tag.c(238): tag_func_define_sprite: data after last frame

DVD support on CentOS 5.1
Hello out there!
Been around the block trying to get DVD support for Totem, but I keep
running into dead ends everywhere I go. Looking for CentOS 5.1-compatible
xine and xine-lib packages as that seems to be the answer, but the only ones
I find (like on DAG) seem to be just dead links or I get a message that the
mirrors are unavailable when I try to run the rpm.
Can anyone provide a link

no suitable decoder for audio codec 2
hello
i tried both swfdec-0.6.6 and current git with full gstreamer install
as well as with libmad. however, i get the below error message:
swfdec_codec_audio.c(205): swfdec_audio_decoder_new: no suitable
decoder for audio codec 2
i'm not shure if 'audio codec 2' means AC2? with gst-inspect,
i find only one related tag: ffenc_ac3.
what's missing here?

VP6 issues in Swfdec
Hi,
I'm one of the Swfdec[1] Flash player developers. As you may be aware,
Flash uses VP6 as a possible video decoder.
Someone recently grabbed all of the videos at http://pown.alluc.org
and threw them at ffmpeg. Surprisingly, lots of them killed the vp6
decoder and in turn my browser.
I'll attached a series of patches for issues that I could fix myself,
and point out issues I could not

C6 Firefox 45.1 segmentation faults
I also have this problem. Am still running previous FF version.
So ffmpeg appears to be at fault, need to see if it's a version thing or something.

totem: something wrong with gstreamer-plugins-ugly
When running totem to play a move (e.g. mpeg-1 file), it fails with the
message: "A MPEG-1 System Stream demuxer plugin is required to play this
stream, but not installed."
After reading docs and trying various things I've reduced the source of
the problem to the package gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.11-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm
# rpm --rebuilddb
# rpm -q libdvdread
libdvdread-4.1.3-1.el5
