Not able to list domain in new samba DC
Yes I did setup libnss_winbind.
wbinfo -u and -g on the domain member both work:
[root at testfsrv ~]# wbinfo -u
SAMDOM\testakin
SAMDOM\testsina
SAMDOM\testigein
SAMDOM\administrator
SAMDOM\krbtgt
SAMDOM\guest
[root at testfsrv ~]# wbinfo -g
SAMDOM\allowed rodc password replication group
SAMDOM\enterprise read-only domain controllers
SAMDOM\denied rodc password replication group

Not able to list domain in new samba DC
Hello list
Samba newbie here, loolking for help.
I am trying to follow the samba wiki to setup a domain controller and
an attendant file server. I built samba from 4.7.1 source and I am
installing on a set of Centos 7 VMs.
So far everything looks ok, but when I run smbclient on the DC I get
the following, and cant see the domain presented:
[root at testbox ~]# smbclient -L localhost -U%

Not able to list domain in new samba DC
It’s Centos 7 and I thought all I had to do was set up nsswitch.conf for it to work.

Setting up Second Samba DC samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset fails
Hi List!
I am working my way through getting familiar with samba and I have two
domain controllers now with an additional samba file server.
The servers are CentOS 7.4.1708;
the domain controllers are built from source with samba-4.7.1;
and the file server, installed winbind, smb and nmb from CentOS repos.
My problem is after bringing up the second domain controller and
successfully joining it

Setting up Second Samba DC samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset fails
Hi Rowland
I removed the winbind lines, and added the 'idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 =
yes' line to the second DC, and
rebooted the servers, but the error does not go away.
First DC:
[global]
dns forwarder = 8.8.8.8
netbios name = TESTBOX
realm = SAMDOM.TESTING.COM
server role = active directory domain controller
workgroup = SAMDOM

`getent passwd` not working with ad backend
Hi all,
I've been reading and it seems like ad backend has many features that I'd like to use. However, despite browsing many forums and docs, I am still unable to get domain users list using `getent passwd` while using `ad backend`. If I change backend to tdb, then I can get usernames on the clients. Authentication works fine too when using `tdb backend`. I think the only issue is with

idmap problems
I've spent some time updating, upgrading and generally consolidating an old Samba AD. I've managed to remove a very old unsupported (4.2) Samba AD DC following migration to a couple of new DC's - that seems to have worked out OK. Workstation logons and GPO's working fine.
I'm now left with one problem after joining a new Samba (4.5.12) member server to the domain for file

Problem with one User after upgrade to 4.5.0
Well I upgraded from 4.4.6 to 4.5.0 and discovered that one of my user
accounts is completely borked. What is very strange is that everything
in Samba looks okay. Here is the first problem symptom. The data is from
the DC.
