chrony configuration for secondary samba DC
DC that doesn't holding PDC emulator FSMO role should sync it's time
with DC that holdings such role. Right?
But I can understand how it works in case of samba DC without PDC
emulator FSMO role and with NTP server configured according to
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Time_Synchronisation#Set_up_the_ntpd.conf_File_on_a_DC
. Doesn't it create conflict between samba potential to sync

Speaking of which, any suggestions on what's the best way to found out which NTP servers the client should be tuned to in AD DS? From what I understand, they are not

Are your clients talking to the DCs re. Time at all ?
This is an example in one of my DCs: Run tcpdump on your DC:

chrony configuration for secondary samba DC
It wasn't particularly Chrony related question. The question applies
to Samba DC that not holds PDC emulator FSMO role with any NTP server.

Joining Windows 10 Domain Member to Samba AD/DC
I've added a Windows 10 domain member to my Domain. I'm now following the
procedure in https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Time_Synchronisation#Configuring_Time_Synchronisation_on_a_Windows_Domain_Member.
I've created the Group Policy for the "Time Sources". This doesn't seem to be
working. This did work fine with my old 4.8.2 DC, so I know it works in
principle.
I have

Samba domain time sync woes (Debian Bookworm)
FWIW, I looked at the settings in our domain (all of which I did myself).
I used to explicitly set up ntp time sources in our network for all windows
workstations before, and I continued to provide these after conversion from
nt4-style domain to samba AD-DC. The NTP records are provided by DHCP, and
are configured in the GPO, both with regional differences (choosing the local
NTP servers within

Samab-4.10.15 running in FreeBSD Jail
I just wish to ensure that my conclusion respecting Samba, FreeBSD Jails, and
NTP is correct.
1. Unless configured otherwise Windows domain clients will query and obtain
their time from the samba_server DC.
2. Samba_server obtains its time from the OS, in this case a FreeBSD Jail.
3. FreeBSD Jails get their time from their host.

Absolutely true for DCs, where ntpd with --enable-ntp-signd is needed,

Questions about time synchronisation in a multi-DC Samba environment
Hi All,
I am currently running a setup with a main DC ad1, that has ntpd
installed and is currently configured to retrieve the time from the UK
NTP time pool. I also have a second backup AD DC, ad2, on which I have
not installed ntpd but I have installed ntpdate. My current
understanding is that the setup I have just described is in-line with
the recommended best practices outlined in the

Recently we have been having a lot of trouble with time
synchronisation between our samba DC and the domain clients. We are
not sure what started this issue since the Samba domain went live on
October 11, 2016 and the issues only began to surface this past
January but at some point the time on the clients and the DC diverged
enough that we began to get strange network errors. Once we figured

chrony configuration for secondary samba DC
Hi
I'm running samba 4.7.6 on ubuntu 18.04 as (backup / secondary) domain
controller that joined to an Existing Active Directory (Windows 2012R2
server).
The question is about Time Synchronization across the domain.
How should I configure chrony v3.2 in order to provide time synchronization:
1. between main Windows DC and Samba DC
2. Between Samba DC and windows clients in case when

Time synchronization and Password Policies
Hi,
We are running Samba-AD and all things are working absolutely fine.
However, two very specific issues observed one related to Windows
Clients (Members) automatically synchronizing the time with PDC emulator
and second password policies are not getting enforced.

Normally, in totally Windows environment, when adding a windows PC (Or
server) to a domain as a
