Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have
DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine,
and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or
add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local
security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding

We stopped the migration, because we had to many problems. For your
information:
The windows-domain was set up in 2002 with windows 2000 and was raised
up to windows 2012 over the years. The domain is responsible for the
login of all 20.000 students. So over the years they have over 170.000
Objects. For the migration we used the 4.11 sernet-packages. We started
with 32GB of RAM and noticed that

Samba4 in FreeBSD cannot upgrade dns
Hi, Samba team!
I am trying to install samba4 on FreeBSD 9.2 as a domain DC to join an
existing samba4 domain controller on FreeBSD 9.2.
I followed the instruction of:
Samba4/HOWTO/Join a domain as a DC
Everything is OK until I run the following command:
root at mtm:/var/named/etc/namedb # samba-tool drs showrepl

samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ does not fix hard link issue
Hi all,
according to:
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Dns-backend_bind#New_added_DNS_entries_are_not_resolvable
when there is a inode mismatch between
./private/sam.ldb.d
and
./private/dns/sam.ldb.d
updating dns is going to fail.
According to the very same document, the command:
samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ
+ restart bind9
would fix the issue.
I am running samba-4.1.1 on Debian

samba-upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ fix hard links / A Record / PTR Record left
Hi,
i have the following problem.
I use the remote administration tools. I added a forward lookupzone A Record and would automtically add the suitable PTR Record.
A Record was added but i miss the PTR Record. I have a foreward and reverse lookup zone. I use 4.1.6 and use now 4.1.11. Before it worked.
I read at the wiki out that the sam.ldb.d and dns/sam.ldb.d are hard links. I checked that

Domain DNS zones file corrupted
Hi!
Lately I'm faced some problems with samba. Basically it starts and
dies[1] soon after. A little research and I found the issue: I/O
error. There was a bad sector "under" the DOMAINDNSZONES ldb file,
making the file corrupted.
So far no problems, but before the current setup, I've tested samba
within an usb stick - please, don't judge me :P - and faced exactly

Problem after join samba 4.11 into windows-domain
We joined a samba 4.11 DC (sernet-packages) into a windows domain? with
round about 170.000 objects. After "commiting SAM database" has finished
after 21 hours we now have a database-file but if we try to list the
content with "ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/privat/sam.ldb" we get the
following error:

ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb
